General Description:
The Security Driver Training Instructor reports to the Security Driver Training Unit Chief, located in the Special Skills Branch, Security and Law Enforcement Training Division, Office of Training and Peformance Support (TPS), Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS), U.S. Department of State. The TPS is a fully accredited academy through Federal Law Enforcement Training Accreditation (FLETA). The incumbent will serve as an instructor and course manager for security driver training courses with responsibility for planning, organizing, and presenting and/or managing the presentation of one or more of these courses and for evaluating training effectiveness to ensure that objectives are met. The incumbent also serves as a DS Training Center subject matter expert in security/counterterrorist driving, vehicle dynamics, motorcade operations, and other related areas. Additionally, the driving instructor will participate in training oversight for various Task Orders awarded under the Department of State Worldwide Protective Security contract. This oversight requires travel throughout the US. Travel to various training sites will comprise approximately 30 percent of work requirements.
