Reports to: Senior Director of Security and Guest Services
Deadline: April 30, 2012
The Assistant Security Manager is responsible for supervising and training subordinate personnel, providing direction and leadership during baseball games and events.
Job Functions:
Comply with Los Angeles Dodgers policies and procedures
Perform pre-game, in-game and post-game managerial duties in a professional manner, directing and managing people during emergency and non-emergency activities
Be prepared to start work at designated times before baseball games and selected events start
Maintain work attendance, reporting in a punctual manner
Comply with Dodgers dress and grooming standards Greet guests attending all stadium events
Must be able to function as an individual and team member, accepting task changes and exhibiting maturity and professionalism, especially in crisis and under pressure
Must be able to address subordinates and superiors during pre-game briefings and post-game debriefings, communicating assignments and policies
Monitor attendance, dress, grooming and performance, conducting audits and inspections to ensure compliance
Open and supervise turnstiles, complying with bag check and security procedures
Verify credentials of anyone requesting entry into a restricted area (clubhouses, playing field, press box, umpire room, etc.)
Provide assistance with guests special needs, hearing impairment, wheelchair, etc.
Maintain a vigilance of assigned sections
Walking assigned areas and recognizing and reporting cleanliness, risk management and safety concerns
Must be able to recognize and report suspicious behavior, objects and vehicles and risk management concerns
Initiate and supervise directed patrol inspections of restrooms and stairwells during pre and post-game
Review and approve interview and injury reports
Enforce fan code of conduct
Demonstrate outstanding interpersonal skills when interacting with fans and staff
Able to provide verbal directions to maintain order and ensure adherence to safety rules
Guide guests to exits or provide other assistance/instructions in case of emergency
Must be effective and safe when interacting with agitated, angry or unruly individuals during intense situations without losing composure
Monitor alcoholic beverage activities and compliance, recognizing and reporting illegal and improper behavior
Work effectively with all Dodgers employees, especially managerial counterparts
Basic Requirements/Qualifications
Must pass pre-employment background check which includes but is not limited to employment eligibility and criminal history
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Possess a valid California Class C driver’s license and valid California Guard Card
Two (2) or more years’ experience in supervising and leading subordinates with strong teamwork etiquette
Excellent English communication skills
Proficient in MS Office applications is a plus
Able to read, analyze and interpret Dodgers policies and procedures, memorize, recollect and quickly retrieve relevant information
Understanding of the rule of the law and relevant California administrative and penal code sections
A bilingual skill is preferred but not required
Must be in good health to handle all physical demands, being able to walk and climb stairs and stand for extended periods of time
Able to work evenings, holidays and weekends ass needed
Able to be courteous, polite and respectful to people from various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
Must demonstrate ethical, legal, proper and safe behavior
Basic knowledge or professional baseball preferred
