Job Description
Position description – Joint IED Defeat Organization (JIEDDO) Navy Center of Excellence (COE) requires civilian (contractor) to serve as Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Warfare Specialist to work in conjunction with active duty military. Provides EOD warfare expertise in support of the JIEDDO Navy COE’s mission of integrating technology, training, techniques, and procedures to develop IED Defeat CONOPS, coordinate Joint and Service training efforts and develop individual and collective training for deploying units to proactively defeat IEDs. This position requires a civilian (contractor) for the purposes of adding continuity and depth of expertise to the Navy COE as active duty military rotate through.

Duties – Serves as EOD Warfare Specialist for the JIEDDO Navy COE. Provides EOD and IED knowledge/expertise key to all Navy COE goals relating to IED and RCIED defeat. Assists in development and integration of technology, training, techniques and procedures for Navy COE assigned areas of CREW, Robotics, Pre-Detonation and Render Safe. In the absence of active duty military, may represent NAVY
EOD operator interests and provide link to Navy EOD units/commands for all areas of Navy COE’s mission. May participate as member of Mobile Training Team (MTT) and provide pre-deployment C-IED training to Navy units, individual augmentees (IA) and other services as required. Assist in performance of Navy COE’s mission as assigned. Actual duties may vary as duties and responsibilities of Navy COE will change over time in response to changes in IED threat and C-IED TTPs.
