Specific Job Description The customer is the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and acts as the provider of GIG/Defense Information System Network (DISN) services to its customers the Department of Defense (DoD) and national security organizations. To achieve this, DISA is seeking reliable, cost effective solutions to acquire Operations and Maintenance (O&M) for the CONUS and OCONUS network and provide the support necessary to carry out the day-to-day operations and sustainment of GIG networks and related services. The core telecommunications capabilities supported by GSM-O enable the Warfighter to meet operational needs by providing world-wide telecommunications, supporting natural disaster relief, and conducting humanitarian assistance in peace time crises, regional conflicts, and at the same time executing on-going strategic deterrence activities.Manages Information Systems Security personnel and provides oversight to security program(s) projects. Assesses configuration changes for security impacts; assists in the development of alternate courses of action or implementation of resultant measures. Performs system administration functions to include (but not limited to documenting the security architecture. Develops user security guidelines and SOPS. Provides Information Security Controls and guidelines to nodes and network management systems. Maintains network/system access and password controls. Collates and analyzes audit trail data. Reviews security threats and determines/implements effective countermeasures IAW established policies/regulations/directives. Analyzes network or system changes/reconfigurations for security impacts (performs risk analysis/assessment). Documents security measures policies.
This position will be responsible for security oversight. This role will provide threat analysis and incident reports, procedures and requirements to support the Government’s Computer Network Defense (CND) Service Provider (CNDSP) in the areas of Protect; Monitor, Analyze and Detect; Respond; and Sustain. These CND services define actions employed to prevent or mitigate computer network attacks that may cause disruption, denial, degradation, destruction, exploitation, unauthorized access, or information theft to computer networks, information systems, or their contents.
