Surveillance Detection (SD) – Staff
Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for conducting classroom instruction, presentations and exercises in accordance with the guidelines and directives set forth by the US Department of State, Bureau of Diplomatic Security, Office of Antiterrorism Assistance (DS/T/ATA).
Responsible for ensuring only current DS/T/ATA approved training materials (lesson plans, participant handouts, videos, and case studies) are used in the delivery of DS/T/ATA courses.
Responsible for returning all DS/T/ATA training materials including course CDs and for ensuring that all DS/T/ATA downloaded materials are deleted at the end of the course.
Establish effective communications for day-to-day implementation and liaise with Training Delivery Officer through lead facilitator on all aspects of training.
Assist with classroom set up, equipment, and other advance preparation
Assist with compiling End of Course Reports for submission.
Assist with the administration of pre- and post- Knowledge Surveys utilizing DS/T/ATA approved format.
Assist with the administration of Participant Skills Evaluations as required utilizing DS/T/ATA approved format.
Assist with the administration of Participant Critiques utilizing DS/T/ATA approved format
Maintain high level of professionalism outside of normal training hours, and during interaction with course participants, Post and Partner Nation officials.
Mandatory Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Three (3) years of professional work experience may be substituted for one (1) year of education. A maximum of three years of college may be substituted with work experience.
Minimum of three (3) years experience conducting surveillance, surveillance detection, and/or counter surveillance for local, state, or Federal government agencies.
Familiar with curriculum design and development concepts.
Experience using commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) facial drawing software and surveillance databases.
Instructor certification from a recognized local, state, or Federal law enforcement or military institution or a Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) recognized organization.
Willing and able to deliver training overseas in low stability and austere environments below Western standards.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office products: Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree or other advanced degree.
Experience in training of foreign nationals in an international environment.
Certification from any local, state, Federal, or international organization in advanced training course(s) related to the field of surveillance, surveillance detection, counter surveillance, counterterrorism, or related field.
