Role Mission
The Security & Crisis Director will be accountable for organizing and directing the deployment of cost-efficient, effective security loss prevention and risk management strategies designed to safeguard business interests, information, people and property
Key Accountabilities
Responsible for all security operations in Americas including the safeguarding of corporate, retail and supply chain facilities, staff assets, visitors and
Establish and maintain seamless interface with GUCCI Americas management and operations
Provide primary direct security support to GUCCI operations in Americas
Responsibility for conducting comprehensive risk and site vulnerability assessments to identify deficiencies and provide recommendations for the protection of employees and to prevent financial loss, damage, or business interruptions. Ongoing analysis of security exposures to corporate assets within the region, providing timely information to regional management and corporate office in Italy
Develop and implement cost effective proactive security programs to address these exposures leveraging on existing programs
Maintain close liaison with government and industry security and intelligence professionals within the region
Provide guidance and support to retail security operations within the region ensuring that worldwide global security standards, policies and procedures are implemented and maintained
Assess shrink stores to identify, measure and quantify loss causes and make actionable recommendations to prevent ongoing losses
Monitor effectiveness of physical security system in new and existing stores
Developing country-specific retail security training programs and seek the support of outside agencies (i.e. Police) where possible
Implement the worldwide Incident Reporting System within the region to report and track security incidents thereby ensuring all security incidents are addressed and appropriate communications of resulting actions are accomplished, including conducting investigations involving employee discount abuse or other fraud
Conduct and coordinate other non-IP related investigations within the region
Manage the investigation of major and high loss incidents such as robbery, burglary, assault, high shrink loss, missing deposit and other major incidents by being a liaison with law enforcement supporting crime related investigations
Work closely with the regional Legal Department in order to provide security and investigation support where appropriate i.e. company due diligence and background checks
Ensures that all internal and external investigations are completed in a manner that complies with all corporate and legal standards. Collect evidence and case facts to substantiate liability in order to bring closure to an investigation. To record and document all evidence and write a factual narrative at the investigations conclusion. Effectively and professionally deals with law enforcement personnel and court systems
Provide support to the regional Human Resources Department in conducting pre-employment screening investigations and enquiries
Assist the Worldwide Corporate Security & Crisis Director in the development and implementation of Global emergency contingency plans for disasters, evacuations, and other emergencies
Responsible to perform annual risk analysis for the Region, particularly with respect to level of crime, terrorism, workplace violence, threats from natural and manmade disasters
Managing requirement for in-house and contracted security workforce, developing and instituting developmental training to enhance work performance and team efficiency
Effectively partners with store, district and corporate personnel to achieve identified organizational goals. Maintain a strong partnership with the District Manager as well as with Store Manager to ensure execution of all operational efficiencies, programs, and policies
Guided by corporate accounting procedures, develop and administer the Security budget; Coordinating with local leadership, develop, justify and execute security-related capital equipment spending projects
Working closely with the regional Store Planning Department and managing the design and implementation of security systems for current and future store, office and warehouse projects from inception through development to opening
Working closely with the regional Public Relations Department to manage all security needs to ensure that special events are conducted in a safe and secure environment whilst adhering to local laws
Maintain awareness of the regional security situation by utilizing web based tools and other sources of information, including in-country contacts and provide timely support and advice to traveling staff in countries which may have an elevated security, safety or medical risk i.e. coups, protests, natural disasters, disease breakout
Job Requirements
At least 8 years of corporate security management with at least 3 years of supervisory experience. Advanced knowledge of law enforcement and criminal/civil laws
Bachelor’s degree in law or criminology is preferred
Advanced knowledge of corporate security management (e.g. risk management, crisis & emergency management, physical security, investigations, personnel security, executive protection)
Advanced communication skills
Advanced time management skills
Action-oriented: Enjoys working hard; is action oriented and full of energy for the things he/she sees as challenging; not fearful of acting with a minimum of planning; seizes more opportunities than others
