Job Title: Warfighter Functional Doctrinal Trainer - MAIII - job # 16-737 (note: This is supervised out of Camp Atterbury, IN; however, the position itself is a remote/virtual location).

Position Summary: Supports government customers to provide advisement, counsel and training on specific military protocols and to ensure compliance with governing military regulations. Analyzes, designs, builds, tests and executes training and exercise events supported by constructive simulations and instrumentation devices. Serves as a subject matter expert in a specific area of expertise, typically military functions and processes such as logistics including supply, maintenance, transportation; intelligence; maneuver; fires; sustainment; or command and control. May conduct analyses of unit performance during exercise or training events, assist in testing and evaluation of training and operational networks, and participate in after-action review. Works with general direction. May provide guidance and direction to others.

Essential Functions: Conducts analyses to evaluate customer needs to determine appropriate training content, objectives and design. Oversees the development, delivery and evaluation of technical training. Establishes processes for identifying training content and evaluating training effectiveness. Uses specialized software technology to research, configure, maintain, update and develop new and existing media and materials.
Applies subject matter expertise in a specific area to independently review and evaluate customer requirements, recognizing both specified and implied requirements. Interacts with customer to ensure requirements, expectations and associated impacts are identified.
Translates variables such as logistic and operational force structure, training or exercise objectives, and the logistical implications of staff planning into viable scenarios to ensure systems will operate as they would on the battlefield.
Provides support to the mission planning and mission execution processes which may include modeling the strategic deployment process down to individual entity level moves reflecting mobilization, deployment and reception, staging, onward movement and integration.
Develops and validates instructional material to support training of personnel. May prepare exercise scenarios, war plans, orders, and scripts to support exercises. May conduct courseware reviews and provide feedback and recommendations on training curriculum improvements and systems and application upgrades.
Coordinates physical layout, networking and simulation architecture in support of individual exercises and military decision-making process (MDMP) support events. Conducts testing and evaluation of training and operational networks that support training and exercise events.
Conducts and supports the analysis of unit performance during training and exercise events. May develop and present after-action review materials.
May develop and manage the execution of small to medium projects including schedules and progress reporting to ensure implementations that are on time, within budget and meet quality objectives.
May lead others during the execution of a particular phase of a project or aspect of work.
May prepare and submit reports, briefs, studies, etc. as required by contract or customer. May create, edit and maintain electronic and written communications. May track and maintain information relative to customer and/or business operations.
May gather data to support complete proposal development activities. Ensures accuracy and quality of training products.
Travels, both CONUS and OCONUS, to attend and/or support planning conferences, design meetings, and exercise execution.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Typical Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' or a PhD degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge: Completely understands and applies job practices, techniques, standards, principles, theories, and concepts. Possesses general knowledge of other related disciplines.

Problem Solving: Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Develops solutions that are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization and mission objectives.

Discretion: Independently determines and develops approaches to solutions. Receives general direction for work that is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.

Impact: Contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects, ensuring compliance with governing military regulations and protocol. Failure to obtain results, reaching erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in loss of credibility with customer and serious impact to ongoing program or follow on business.

Liaison::Serves as subject matter expert to external customers. Interacts frequently with inter-organizational personnel.
