Security Specialist

Description

In this position employee is responsible for support to the Facility Security Officer (FSO) for providing collateral security support for multiple duties associated with collateral security processing of staff and contract personnel. Review SF86’s to determine security eligibility. Conduct security briefings and debriefings. Assist in performing JPAS checks if necessary. Initiate request for investigations for security clearances. Assist in preparing DD-254’s. Maintain security files. Assist in security training and security audit tasks. All other tasks and duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Secret clearance
Prior experience working with SF86’s highly desirable
Minimum two years personnel security experience
Proven ability and working knowledge of security systems to include PSIP, JPAS, ACCS, and eQIP.
Computer skills to include Excel, Outlook and Power Point.
Prior experience working with DODCAF, OPM and DSS highly desirable
Employee must be detail orientated and organized and must demonstrate time management.
This position requires the employee to understand verbal and written instructions.
The employee must have the ability to complete tasks in a timely manner as well as the ability to meet deadlines when applicable.
Employee is required to communicate and work effectively with other employees.

Desired Requirements
Employee is required to sit for the majority of the working hours, and complete tasks electronically.
Employee must have an understanding of security guidelines provided by INSCOM and government contract requirements.
Employee must display sound judgment when determining security eligibility, failure to do so may result in negative consequences for both Mission Essential Personnel and the employee.
