Position Description
AIG has an opportunity for the Head of Security, based in the New York Office. Direct and develop AIG’s Duty of Care focused security program by leading the U.S. domestic and international staff. Accountable for developing, implementing and maintaining security processes to protect employees and assets, reduce risk, respond to incidents and limit exposure to liabilities. The position reports to the Executive Vice President, Human Resources and Administration.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and direct overall security for AIG: site security operations, physical security design and implementation, guard force operations, executive protection, investigations, predictive analysis, response services, and travel security (controls and systems, facility selection and expatriate assignments). Develop standards and policies worldwide for compliance with government rules, regulations, laws and treaties regarding security.
• Investigative and response services: crimes against persons, sabotage, threats, extortion, emergency events, and property crimes. Provide ongoing communication and support to executive management on trends and status of security issues.
• Security technology design and integration and security management techniques: access control, geo-fencing, content management delivery platforms, emergency communications, alarm monitoring, travel tracking and CCTV systems to safeguard the organization's assets and correct security vulnerabilities with new and legacy IT systems.
• Crisis communications and disaster response: 24/7 crisis communications, threat monitoring and pro-active disaster response. Lead relationships with internal risk teams, high-level law enforcement and global counterparts to include in-country security and international security agencies, intelligence and private sector counterparts.
• Contract management and budget: key vendor relationships and annual budget planning and monitoring.
• Advisor for product and service solutions: significant responsibility regarding specific lines including Business Travel Accident and Kidnap & Ransom response services and risk mitigation. Act as a policy trigger for over 1 million corporate clients and responsible for critical care and emergency services for millions of policy holders. Also responsible for concepts and models designed to limit policy loss.
• Experience in the international security arena especially in international crisis response, security technology, executive protection, risk modeling and travel security operations. Strong geo-political knowledge base.
• Advanced degree or equivalent in an area of study relevant to this position is desired.
• High level of proficiency in business continuity principles and experience in recent, real world continuity events.
• Strong experience integrating risk mitigation solutions with various insurance lines and developing risk mitigation Duty of Care solutions designed to reduce exposure in both the client and corporate arena.
• Experience in advising on internal insurance coverage and operational response capabilities.
• Experience in staff development and management, budget oversight and process/program design.
