Job Summary:
Responsible for delivery and development of HME related courses and curriculum as well as the development of supporting Programs of Instruction and Lesson Plans.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Serve as primary HME Instructor.
HME Instructor shall be able to review, refine, update if necessary, and comment on lesson plans, write personal lesson outlines in support of existing Programs of Instruction and lesson plans, create training materials (handouts, PowerPoint slides, outlines, study sheets, etc.) in support of lesson plans, outlines,
and develop realistic training scenarios to replicate real-world operations.
Conduct the research and development of new TTP’s related to explosive mixes, technical equipment, IED electronics etc.
Perform other duties as directed by the Director or Course Assistant Program Manager and Program Manager.
Be available to travel worldwide in support of training, if required.
Be capable of working in a fast paced, physical demanding and intense environment.
Qualifications:
Extensive HME operational experience is required.
Be able to communicate effectively both written and verbal, speak to large and small audiences, speak clearly to instruct, and evaluate and counsel students in the subtle and difficult concepts of the subject matter.
Shall be United States Citizens.
Possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance.
Have a valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
Have a valid passport.
Ability to travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations as required.
Experience Required:
Have completed a minimum of one (1) of the following courses:
Signature Science - Intermediate and Advanced Home Made Explosives
Sandia National Laboratories – Advanced Home Made Explosives (HME) and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD)
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) - Home Made Explosives
Have a minimum of six (6) years experience in the following subject matter areas:
HME to include chemical precursors and formulas
Current Counter-Improvised Explosive Device (C-IED) tactics, techniques and procedures.
HME detection devices and presumptive test kits for both bulk and trace samples.
Post Blast Exploitation, required ATF Post Blast course certificate.
Molecular weight and oxygen balance chemistry
Weapons Technical Intelligence with an emphasis on bomb maker signature profiling
It is highly desired that the Home Made Explosives Instructor have experience with Special Operations
Forces tactics, techniques and procedures for the exploitation of HME and HME precursors.
