K9 Handlers (Part Time & Seasonal)
Location: New Smyrna Beach, FL


Looking for full-time, part-time and seasonal K-9 Handlers for explosive and drug detection on the Ports of Everglades, Miami, Tampa and other ports as contracts deem necessary. Handlers should expect to be deployed to other locations as deemed necessary by management and the company.
This job requires stamina and must be fit enough to work 8-12 hours outside in all weather conditions with K-9. Must be able to follow instructions and be willing to learn. Dependability is an absolute must.

Days vary from 3 or 4 days per month to 1 to 5 days a week and must be available weekends and weekdays from 6 A.M till 5 or 6 P.M. Hours vary from contract to contract, and some flexibility will be necessary to meet our customer demands. Starting pay is $20 per hour and/or typically set as a daily rate as negotiated by contract.

Prior Military, Security, and/or dog handling experience is preferred.
Must be a U.S. citizen or have the legal right to work in the United States.
Employee must obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license
Must possess a High School Diploma, GED or accredited equivalent recognized by the US Department of Education
Must have or obtain an activated cellular phone with data access plan capable of sending and receiving text messages and emails.
Must successfully pass a criminal background investigation.NO FELONY convictions, no dishonorable discharges, no animal cruelty or neglect convictions.
Must agree/submit to a drug toxicology screening.
If hired applicant must purchase TWIC I.D. card (Transportation Worker Identity Credentials) immediately. The employee will also need to obtain ports identification card once TWIC certified at no additional cost. TWIC card will be reimbursed after Nine months of employment.
We offer in-house/OJT training at no cost. Training is conducted at our location in New Smyrna Beach, Florida and continues at the specific job locations on a daily basis.
Employee will be required to pass proficiency testing and certification at least once yearly with assigned canine partner.
New employees must also purchase (at own cost) or have B.D.U. trousers, and Boot’s for use with the company supplied uniform shirts.
Must agree to maintain compliance with terms set forth in the company’s Appearance Policy and Dress Code.
Have reliable transportation preferably an SUV or truck with topper for kennel and dog.
Must sign and agree to the terms of an employment contract with non-compete, non-disclosure and confidentiality requirements.
