Job Description
The role of the Subject Matter Expert– Corporate Security is responsible for the research, analysis and recommendation of corporate security related programs for DSC’s global customers, thus facilitating implementation of corporate security products, services and policies. This SME also provides support for DSC’s overall business plan of achieving sales and profit objectives and providing exceptional customer service. Depending on the successful candidate’s qualifications, the role will be at the Director or Manager level.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Works with DSC leadership and customers to design and conduct highly sensitive programs.
· Makes recommendations in the development of procedures, processes and products.
· Maintains constant and thorough industry knowledge and up-to-date understanding of trends
· Coordinates activities and reports statuses in support of DSC objectives.
· Maintains extensive network of contacts
· Coordinate involvement of overlapping functional organizations that touch on security (IT, privacy, marketing, legal, etc.).
· Early identification and reporting of functional overlaps and conflicts in security program management worldwide.
· Identification of security best practices.
· Creation of status assessment tools and ongoing monitoring of security compliance.
· Interface and communicate regularly with appropriate levels of DSC management
· Create novel and sustainable processes
· Create policy-derived guidance documents
· Build positive business relationships both within and outside of the corporation
· Represent DSC at industry standards meetings, consortiums, and other forums that develop next generation security enhancements
Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree and 10-15 years of relevant experience required
· Strong communication and influence skills across functional areas including high levels of management both internally and with customers worldwide.
· Demonstrated success as a change agent – leading by example but most often working through others.
· Ability to manage resources outside direct reports. Demonstrated experience in results oriented programs.
· Excellent program management and planning skills.
· Demonstrated experience with information technology with familiarity with Microsoft technologies, software architecture, networking and security implementation.
· Expertise with security devices and the constraints of their safety and effectiveness regulation.
· Ability to travel at least 25% of the time both domestically and internationally and in some cases with limited notice.
Desired Qualifications:
· Security and privacy certification highly preferred.
· Experience with advanced surveillance systems (biometrics, facial, fingerprint, and/or iris recognition) highly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to sit for extended periods of time; frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc.; occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 10 lbs
Specific vision abilities required by this job include use of computer monitor screens a great deal of time
Work Environment:
Individual’s primary workstation is located in an office area
