Job Description
Fluor Canada Ltd is seeking a dynamic, innovative, professional and team orientated individual to fill a Security Manager position at the Kearl Oil Sands Project in northern Alberta. This project is an Imperial Oil/ExxonMobil project with Fluor as the Prime Contractor. It is a “fly in, fly out” work site with employees working a two weeks on, one week off rotation. Kearl employees live in a camp environment during their rotations.The primary roles of the position include the following:

• directly supervising and mentoring a contracted guard force as they conduct access control, loss prevention and other duties at the Kearl access points and on the Kearl lease
• responding to, and resolving, security related incidents
• directly conducting/supporting special activities such as module movements, drug dog operations, and VIP visits
• conducting detailed investigations into incidents
• supporting Project safety initiatives, emergencies, and visits
• preparing a variety of daily and weekly written reports
• overseeing the collection of Project security statistics and trends
• writing and implementing new security/safety policy and procedures
• collecting security intelligence

Basic Job Requirements 
•a minimum of 10 years of security and/or police experience
•a minimum of 5 years as a security/police supervisor
•extensive security experience and knowledge
•experience in conducting detailed investigations
•good office computer skills and knowledge
•strong communication and interpersonal skills
•training/coaching/mentoring experience
Other Job Requirements Desirable Experience
•previous security/police managerial experience
•experience working with contracted security
•cultural and ethnic diversity training and/or experience
•experience in the Oil Sands/oil and gas industry
•previous Fluor and/or Imperial Oil/ExxonMobil work experience
•Safety training and experience
•domestic or foreign operations (military, CIVPOL, civilian, G8, Olympics etc)
•experience teaching in a training environment (i.e. Academy, Community college, University)
•specialty police/security training (i.e. drug dog handler, bomb disposal, ERT, OSCAR, Surveillance, Crime Scene Mgmt, Traffic accident investigator, Major Case Management, Investigative Specialist trg, Harassment Advisor/Investigator)
•post secondary education – preferably with an emphasis on, or direct correlation to, a security related field
