Job Description
Provides primary training for retrievers and ensures all assigned dogs meet the acceptance evaluation criteria or are recommended for removal.
Must be capable of tracking and documenting all training for five dogs.
Must be willing to follow specified training guidance provided by client.
Experience and Education:Required Qualifications:
Extensive hunt/field trail training experience working with retrievers (specifically Labrador Retrievers)
Extensive experience using an e-collar
Force fetch up to two-hundred and fifty(250m)
Directional control up to two-hundred and fifty(250m)
Casting up to two-hundred and fifty (250m)
Whistle stop up to two-hundred and fifty (250m)
Recall up to two-hundred and fifty (250m)
Extensive understanding of behavior shaping and changing, dog drives (prey, retrieve, hunt) and principals of conditioning (positive and negative reinforcement and punishment)
Excellent problem solving skills related to hunt dog training (shown through prior dog training records)
Humane (Aversiveness, or a correction, meant as a behavior weakener, but which do not weaken a behavior, is abusive and inhumane)
Education and Experience:
The Canine Trainer must possess the following:
A minimum of at least five year’s experience training hunt/retrieve dogs for hunt tests or detector dog training for commercial, government or military organizations.
