Overview:
Serves as SOC's first-line operational representative on all canine contracts while providing day-to-day direction and managerial oversight of the SOC Canine Training Center. Responsible for execution of operational objectives and alignment with company's strategic initiatives. Drives optimization of financial and technical performance through unity of effort, resource conservation and efficiency of operations.
Responsibilities:
Acts as the primary point of contact for SOC canine initiatives. Provides day-to-day direction for SOC canine support to include training, recruiting, certification and deployment of canine personnel and canine assets.
Assumes overall responsibility to ensure SOC Canine Programs are successfully progressing and that key deliverables are being achieved. Works within pre-established budgets and optimizes financial and operational performance in coordination with finance, business and operations staff.
Accountable for technical direction, contract compliance and canine training program performance; leads development and implementation of repeatable, sustainable processes to increase operational efficiencies.
Identifies and incorporates operational enhancements to existing strategic initiatives and expands these to other areas, as appropriate.
Supports Senior Leadership and the Business Development team in establishing the strategic business plans and proposal management/oversight support, as required.
Leads the Canine Training Center staff and sub-contractors by formulating and enforcing work standards, communicating policies, purposes and goals and by fostering an environment that breeds innovative solutions and approaches.
Qualifications
Ability to direct and supervise staff, both technical and administrative, through effective communication, effective delegation of responsibility and the motivation and development of employees.
Experience in effectively directing and providing high-level oversight of canine program administration requiring Explosive Detector Dog Team operations in austere regions.
Proven ability to acquire and administer human, material and information resources needed to support proposal efforts and existing task order requirements.
Proven experience managing relationships with the customer and sub-contractors, and successfully managing a canine program.
Previous experience as a Canine Program Director, Canine Program Manager, Task Order Leader, Senior Canine Instructor/Trainer.
Bachelor's degree preferred. Will accept comparable experience in lieu of degree.
Minimum of 8 years’ experience.
NORT, NAPWADA, Odor Imprintation Trainer certifications.
Current Secret Security Clearance Required.
