The Battle Staff Training Integrator (BSTI) - Maneuver serves as a member of the Mission Training Complex (MTC) Team supporting Ft Sam Houston, TX. The mission of the MTC is to provide simulation and models training, subject matter expertise, over-the-shoulder training, production of exercise/event materials to include after action reviews (AAR) and lessons learned, providing exercise/event analysis in support of simulation enhanced training/tactical gaming and other MEDCOM / AMEDDC&S directed training, and operating simulation clients during testing and exercises. Because the FSH MTC has a diverse customer training base (AMEDDC&S, active and RC Medical units, ARNORTH) with unique requirements and missions the key to the MTC staff's success is the ability to respond to unknown or changing requirements, missions sets (DSCA, Theater Cooperation Support (TSC), tactical medical training) and role playing expertise. The MTC is a training enabler in this process that provides simulation and/or Mission Command System (MCS) stimulation to drive the training.
The BSTI - Maneuver serves as the subject matter expert within the MTC for all issues relating to the maneuver warfighting function to include the related simulations (i.e. JCATS, WARSIM, OneSAF) and Mission Command Systems (i.e. CPOF, FBCB2). The BSTI-Maneuver receives functional training objectives from a military member and is responsible for designing training scenarios, using his/her experience and knowledge of the technical and human resources and tools available to achieve the training objectives. Often is required to combine multiple training objectives from multiple customer unit staffs, requiring extensive in-theater experience, in depth knowledge all the training tools available, and the ability to integrate all the tools and scenarios to achieve complex training objectives.
Responsible for monitoring ongoing training and modifying scenarios in real time as needed to insure the training objectives are achieved. Conducts post-training analysis to measure the effectiveness of the training, and where appropriate, recommends changes to specific scenarios to better represent the in-theater experience. This position is responsible for personally preparing, managing, and conducting blocks of instruction related to the use of all current and future appropriate simulation models and MCS and their integration into the training exercise of event.
Presents classroom instruction (including seminars, conferences, practical exercises, lectures and other activities) to supported units. Provides off-site professional development training to Active, Reserve and National Guard personnel within the ARFORGEN cycle and deployment. Develops training materials, lesson plans, training support packages (TSP), inserting realistic situations into practical exercises, and inserting current lessons learned into situations for training.
Develops Training Support Packages for current and future models fielded to the Division. Develops and executes workstation operator training to support exercises. During exercises employee may serve as a system coach/mentor to role players or perform duties as a role player as directed by the MTC Lead. Works in a highly intense information technology (IT) environment, and required to maximize the use of gaming models as well as the Mission Command Systems (MCS), training aids, devices, simulations and simulators (TADSS), mission specific digital systems/tools, and other available IT assets in the conduct of mission support.
GDIT Requires: Bachelors Degree in a related technical or military discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work/military experience.
Contract Requires: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical discipline and/or equivalent combination of education, technical training or work/military experience.
GDIT Requires: 2-5 years of related experience supporting military operations.
Contract Requires: 2-5 years directly related training experience.
Advanced knowledge of relevant hardware, software, and other equipment as assigned. Some of these qualifications/competencies may include use of current Mission Command Systems, military models and simulations. Microsoft Office Skills including PowerPoint, Word, Access and Excel. Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
