Job Description

SOS International LLC is seeking a Civil-Military Operation (CMO) Officer to support our United States Government (USG) customer. The Civil-Military Operation Officer will ensure consistency of CMO activities in the IP domain, provide cultural advice and analysis of Information Operations (IO) impact on the target audience, and facilitate interagency coordination, intergovernmental coordination, and coordination with nongovernmental organizations. This position reports to the In-Country Program Manager and will coordinate activities and work product with the Military Section Lead.
Responsibilities:
• Ensures consistency of CMO activities in the IO domain
• Advises and assist the military senior leaders with CMO policy, plans, and operations integration
• Provides cultural advice and analysis of IO impact on specified target audiences
• Coordinates with external staffs and counterpart elements for required authorities, plan approval and operation execution and integration
• Facilitates interagency coordination, intergovernmental coordination, and coordination with nongovernmental organizations
• Manages all CMO activities in support of customer objectives
• Liaises with representatives from various governmental and non-governmental organizations
• Comply with all published HSE policies and procedures. Foster safe work practices for all coworkers and subordinates. Report any and all deficiencies to management with an eye towards continuous safety improvement
Minimum Requirements
• US citizenship with a current DOD SECRET clearance. TOP SECRET preferred
• Bachelor’s degree highly desired
• 5 years of experience working in civil military operations / civil affairs operations
• Military background in Civil Affairs, with verifiable operational experience in Afghanistan
• Function effectively during heightened threat levels and extended periods of high stress and physical danger and discomfort
• He or she will be able to organize and prioritize work assignments and function well in an environment that requires constant multi-tasking - and often long hours
• Excellent written, oral, briefing, interpersonal and technical skills
• Ability/flexibility to work long hours and be available to respond to customer needs
• Live and work daily with military personnel in austere conditions across Afghanistan
• Function effectively and efficiently in a combat zone, during extended periods of high pressure and stress
• Ability to wear up to 45 lbs of combat gear, including vest and helmet
