Job Description Under general supervision, oversees day-to-day uniformed services (guard force) operations, including maintenance of shift schedule and ongoing training schedule. Supervises workers engaged in performing security, reception and security system maintenance services. May be responsible for overseeing electronic security systems and maintaining associated records.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and state, federal and local laws.
• Supervises uniformed guard services. Ensures all security posts are staffed daily and maintains ongoing contingency plan for absences, call-off’s, etc. Communicates minor-to-moderate performance issues to contract guard service provider. Coaches subordinates in effective performance of security duties. Develops and maintains post orders (post-specific guard instructions).
• Supervises electronic security systems (intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, etc.) Oversees key management program and coordinates all locksmith services. Inspects or directs inspection of premises to test security systems and equipment. Coordinates system repairs and/or maintenance.
• Oversees day-to-day processing of access reports, alarm code administration, keycard issuance & replacement, DEA background check administration, etc. Maintains audit-ready records as required. Reviews weekly/monthly vendor invoices (document destruction, alarm monitoring, etc.) for accuracy.
• Executes training plan established by security management. Identifies uniformed staff performance deficiencies and resolves through focused training. Monitors and tracks training for all uniformed and reception staff.
• Responds to incidents (accidents, trespassing, vandalism, etc.). Prepares incident reports and briefs security management. Works with customer base to address and resolve issues. Participates in Emergency Response Program.
• Performs related duties as assigned
Qualifications Knowledge of:
• Principles and practices of Corporate Security, employee safety and employee relations.
• Operation of intrusion alarm systems and closed circuit television (CCTV) equipment.
• Access control system use and application.
• Principles of supervision and training.
• Basic computer operations and applications, inlcuding Microsoft Office applications, such as Word and Excel.
• Current Company policies and procedures, including personnel and safety policies and procedures.
• Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and other regulatory requirements.
Skill in:
• Supervising, scheduling and coordinating the work of subordinate personnel.
• Implementing goals, objectives and practices for providing effective and efficient security services.
• Identifying alternative solutions and providing recommendations in support of department and Company goals.
• Communicating clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Operating a personal computer.
• Handling multiple projects, duties and assignments.
• Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with individuals contacted in the course of work.
• Ensuring compliance with all Company policies and procedures, including safety rules and regulations.
Education Bachelors degree in related field from an accredited university or college, with a minimum of at least three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. CPR/First Aid required. CPP or PSP credential issued by the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) preferred.
