Description
The Security and Travel Manager for NOV Wilson will be responsible for meeting the company’s travel needs while designing/implementing security programs to prevent, detect or react to known or suspected threat’s and/or criminal activity towards the company.
This position will oversee the travel department team to ensure daily flight and hotel arrangements within the organization are made timely and cost effectively in addition to promoting physical security initiatives to provide service to all end user locations.
This role will offer a unique opportunity to build the department from the ground up and negotiate exceptional rates on flight, hotel and any other outlet that will be beneficial to the organizations travel arrangements in addition to developing system standards and applications for physical security vendors.
Primary Job Responsibilities
• Coordinates the development of company physical security standards worldwide.
• Influences and educates management on the benefit, need, and role of physical security.
• Posts orders describing the operation of all physical security systems.
• Develops, maintains and reports security metrics.
• Leads or participates in the process to identify risks related to security.
• Formulates and implements policies or initiatives to mitigate risks.
• Outlines and determines specifications and requirements for physical security. Works closely with contract security systems providers/designers. May provide direction and support to architects, designers and installers with regard to physical security and related systems.
• Conducts risk assessments of new and existing facilities. Consistently audits the integrity of security systems.
• Maintains effective and professional relationships with vendors and appropriate government and law enforcement agencies.
• Provides cost benefit/return on investment analysis and other metrics for proposed security systems
• Reviews emerging systems and technologies for present and future applications.
• Interacts and coordinates with facility managers, security coordinators and management and Internal Audit on physical security matters.
• Maintain annual travel budget
• Oversee different travel policies and accurate implementation in the Online Booking Tool
• Update the OBT (Online booking tool) which will offer different options to users with the best possible price
• Assure travel efficiencies throughout the organization for domestic and international travel
• Negotiate corporate fairs/rates with airlines and hotels
• Follow up on incidents and complaints with various vendors as necessary
• Manage corporate travel management program and maintain vendor relationships
• Runs monthly and annual reports on travel usage and helps determine ways to better optimize travel program to be more efficient and effective
• Handles special projects, as assigned.
Job Requirements
• 5+ years’ experience in management of the physical security and/or law enforcement function including access control.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
• Knowledge within the travel market to guarantee the best travel options for domestic and international travel
• Ability to work independently to consult with customers, consultants, and company management in establishing vision for corporate standards.
• Strong communication skills.
• Experience negotiating with travel related vendors
• Willingness to travel.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Experience working with a travel management company preferred
• Industry experience preferred.
