Regional Security Manger Americas – NYC
The Regional Security Manager AMERICAS develops and provides comprehensive security management and internal investigations solutions to ensure the security and safety of Facebook assets, associates, and interests in the AMERICAS region area. Performs complex security and internal investigations work and may supervise directly, or indirectly, security staff members across various security engagements. The Regional Security Manager leads security projects of high technical complexity and high risk profile and is viewed as an authority in his or her area of expertise. He or she is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with senior management in area of responsibility, as well as interacting with external stakeholders such as external security experts and regulators. The Regional Manager consults with various Lines of Business (LOB) on security risks
associated with third party management, manages or conducts security and investigation projects, provides input to regional strategic planning, and provides training, coaching and supervision to internal staff. The Regional Manager, maintains all organizational and professional ethical standards, works independently under minimal supervision, and is able to exercise extensive latitude for initiative and independent judgment.
Responsibilities
Provides subject matter expertise to internal Global Physical Security clients and external clients across Facebook as needed
Provides advice and counsel to management on complex physical security, internal fraud investigations or prevention, life safety risk, crisis management, and emergency response issues
Performs other related work as assigned by the Director, Global Physical Security
Designs and executes complex physical security, life safety or crisis management projects requiring specialized expertise
Serves as one of the foremost authorities within Facebook in his or her area(s) of expertise, with the ability to provide quality, value-added management consulting services to complex business and/or across several business units
Forges partnerships with Global Physical Security colleagues and external clients on the security and safety-related programs that he/she manages
Effectively influences others across the organization in order to effectively implement programs
Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with executive management teams in area
Develops a personal network of people who are industry/business experts, drawing on the experience of others to learn more about the organization
Designs and presents strategic plans for the services and programs for which he/she is responsible
Executes Plan of Work and strategic plan as it affects the programs he/she manages. Assists senior management in monitoring progress against strategic plan
Effectively identifies and plans capital expenditures required to mitigate security and safety risk and to communicate a business case to third party stakeholders
Collects metrics from different sources and reports metrics as needed
Maintains all organizational and professional ethical standards. Pursues professional development opportunities
Establishes and monitors performance metrics to determine team effectiveness.
Ensures work performed meets or exceeds established quality standards and establishes review processes to ensure adherence
Demonstrates a profound sense of ethics, integrity, and confidentiality—adhering to a core set of values in good times and in bad consistent with Facebook’s vision and values
Works independently with low levels of guidance from manager
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent, or equivalent work experience in Criminal Justice
Ten or more years of security management, investigations, security risk consulting experience preferred
Five or more years of supervisory experience
Possesses knowledge in the areas of emergency/disaster management, physical security, critical incident stress management, risk management and business resiliency is familiar with emergency procedure protocols and regulatory interfaces.
Professional certification in area of expertise (e.g. Certified Protection Professional, Certified Physical Security Professional, Certified Crisis Management Professional) a plus
Strong computer skills to include working knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint
Strong knowledge of integrated physical security, life safety, and emergency management systems
