Responsibilities
Oversee operations within Security, promoting safety and security for Guests and Cast. Develop and maintain high performing teams through training, development and communication. Coach and counsel Cast and leaders utilizing performance management tools to ensure team members meet performance goals. Serve as a role model for Walt Disney World Standards and leadership competencies. Provide ongoing support and leadership for initiatives and strategies that will protect Walt Disney World assets. Possess and demonstrate tactical, strategic management skills. Develop business partner relationships and be familiar with operational workings of Walt Disney World Hospitality and Entertainment lines of business. Possess knowledge of established principles and objectives of emergency management, including the Incident Command System, National Incident Management System, Unified Command, Homeland Security Exercise Evaluation Program and basic awareness of responding to a terrorist incident. This leader must be able to motivate the team to action in delivering on the mission of protecting and securing our Guests, Cast and assets through the development and execution of both strategic and tactical initiatives. Strong expertise is required in the areas of threat assessment, emerging trend analysis and daily operational performance. Qualified candidates will possess a demonstrated ability to design, develop and implement plans within a
dynamically changing environment, including the flexible deployment of resources based on both routine and evolving operational priorities and emergency situations.
Basic Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Walt Disney Worlds Security policies and procedures
Valid Certified Protection Professional Designation
Demonstrated 3 years’ experience of Emergency
Management/Preparedness programs and systems
Proficiency in Weather, Disaster Planning and Business Recovery software
Demonstrated ability to manage communication and resources to support decisions during a crisis
Prior leadership skills in a team environment
Ability to interact effectively with Cast Members at all levels
Demonstrated superior relationship, partnering and influencing skills
Demonstrated computer proficiency within a Windows environment (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in Homeland Security or Emergency Management
Demonstrated ability to work independently
Demonstrated planning abilities for multiple tasks
Preferred Education
Master’s degree or advanced education in Emergency
Management/Preparedness training
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field.
