Job Description
The global security director leads the overall management and direction for security programs and policies and is responsible for the safety of employees and the protection of company assets worldwide. This is a newly established position and will be responsible for establishing the security program for an organization with 5500 employees operating in over 70 countries. Strategically develops and directs global policies, guidelines and programs to promote a safe and secure work environment. Additionally responsible for emergency response activities, for leading confidential investigations and acting as liaison with appropriate law enforcement and other government agencies when necessary.
Qualifications
Duties and Responsibilities:
Establish and manage the company security protection policies and procedures. Conducts risk assessments of all locations to include: threat assessment, vulnerability studies, impact analysis, and countermeasures selection. Will initially focus on high risk sites and sites with major employee
populations.
Develops and directs personnel integrity assurance, identification, and facility access control; Develops, implements and maintains physical and operational security standards and access control policies, procedures and guidelines for all ABS work sites Develops practices that maximize the integration and effectiveness of electronic surveillance and barrier technologies with guard personnel.
Develops, communicates and trains personnel on appropriate personal security guidelines and behaviors while traveling globally, particularly in 3rd world locations.
Provides advice, counsel and awareness to Sr. Management and local management on ongoing security risks, emerging security issues and adverse security trends
Manages company response to any immediate security issues.
Serves a key first-responder in disaster planning and recovery efforts
Leads criminal and incident investigations
Provides liaison with law enforcement, develops relationships with local, state, federal and global law enforcement and security organizations, and third party intelligence providers as it applies to the safety of employees and operations;
Works closely with IMS Security, Legal and Compliance on security related issues
Provide guidelines, training and timely alerts to support the safety and security of ABS employees (drive Global Security Risk-Based Travel guidelines, engage regional travel coordinators and promote Travel Security as required, Support CEO travel itinerary’s with appropriate security facilitation, Actively monitor and report on travel risks to High Risk countries)
Required Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in an area of study relevant to this position and extensive experience with a major law enforcement, intelligence, public or private sector security organization.
10+ years experience in asset protection and physical security experience.
Ability to be highly proactive and advise on processes as they are being improved or developed.
In addition, the candidate must demonstrate experience and exposure in the international security arena.
Desired Skills:
Masters degree, in an area of study relevant to this position. An understanding and application of security in different cultures, working across different countries, and experience in an international environment is required. The incumbent must possess excellent people skills with the ability to interact with and influence senior management to further the regional security program. Exceptional leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills, demonstrated persuasive and influencing capabilities and an ability to lead and motivate others. Must have ability to work quickly and independently with attention to detail and sensitivity to deadlines.
