To manage and direct the development, implementation and evaluation of the U.S. Xpress security program and risk minimization programs with a strong emphasis on coordination and communication with internal and external customers.
Job Functions
Serve as the primary liaison of Security between U.S. Xpress and its customers, both internal and external
Monitors security conditions and conduct ongoing analysis of data received from both external and internal sources, and advise management on appropriate risk mitigation strategies
Lead Loss Prevention and Security investigations with a focus on root cause
Organize and present findings on individual cases focusing on identification of root cause, process breakdowns that may have occurred and appropriate actions taken to prevent future losses
Establishes and implements short and long range organizational goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies, standards and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates effectiveness, and effects changes required for improvement that will ensure the highest level of security for USX staff and
assets and the lowest risk of loss and liability to the organization
Acquire, manage, and communicate ongoing compliance of secure business model programs for the corporation such as CTPAT and TSA
Serve as U.S. Xpress’ liaison with public law enforcement, fire and other agencies as it relates to security at U.S. Xpress
Review contracts with a focus on security and liability sections
Travel on a limited basis as needed to manage above accountabilities
Manage security protocol at all USX facilities to include, but not limited to, offices, terminal locations, drop yards and dedicated facilities.
Management of security personnel contracts and supervision of any in-house security personnel
Key Knowledge and Experience
Required
Bachelor’s degree in a related area or 10 years of progressive responsibility in the security field. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Prior experience in an investigative role
Excellent presentation, written and oral communication skills
Ability to work independently and in team environments
Ability to assess operational, program, staffing and fiscal needs
Ability to work cross functionally to achieve organizational and departmental goals
Effectively using interpersonal and communication skills, including tact and diplomacy
Excellent organization skills and ability to multi-task with ease
Demonstrates a proactive approach when assessing security risks for the organization
Experience developing, implementing, and/or managing a large scale program or system
Have the ability to write clear and comprehensive reports
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint) required
Preferred
5 Years directly involved in the transportation industry
Designations including CFI, CFE, CPP and other professionally recognized certifications in the security related field
