Principal Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of the following risk management programs:
Special Events
Manage risk mitigation activities for all worldwide special events and provide guidance to Alexion meeting sponsors, attending employees and meeting planners regarding safety and security for each event as follows:
Monitor the Alexion Special Events portal and enter special events as required.
Coordinate special event risk management activities and logistics with event planners.
Conduct special event risk assessments to determine appropriate level of security countermeasures.
Input special events into TRIS Proximity Alert System.
Develop and execute a customized security plan for each special event and communicate to all
necessary participants.
Collaborate with external security providers as needed for resourcing event security plans.
Provide and direct security staffing or guidance to the meeting sponsor as needed.
Review, update and issue special event security plans and guidance documents as required.
Provide on-site security management for special events exceeding risk assessment threshold.
Manage internal and external Global Security special event personnel
Manage Alexion special event reporting portal
Primary point of contact for internal and external event planners for security coordination
Maintain and continuously improve special event operational plan.
Alexion Travel
Facilitate the Alexion Global Travel Risk Management Program and manage associated software with participating vendors as follows:
Review all Alexion employee worldwide travel on a daily basis.
Review heightened travel risk locations with global travel security partners as required.
Review heightened risk itineraries and recommended protective actions with Alexion employees and managers.
Provide and communicate security guidance to traveling employees and KOLs
Confirm security plans with Country Manager.
Coordinate and confirm all security details for heightened risk travel with global travel security partners to assure employee safety and security measures are in place.
Continuously monitor global security risks and alerts that may affect Alexion travelers, resident employees, assets, and supply chain, and take appropriate action as required.
Review new Alexion business ventures and office locations for security risks.
Review, revise and create heightened risk travel policy as necessary.
Maintain and continuously improve travel risk management operational plan
Ensure accurate heightened risk travel statistics and security costs and provide monthly reports
Measure quality of external travel security providers
Non-Employee Background Screening
Act as Global Security Point of Contact for internal requests for information/clarification for trade vendor, contractor and consultant access level request assessments (background investigations.)
Manage electronic process flows for requesting and authorizing trade vendor, contractor and consultant access requests requiring background screening.
Maintain central repository for all contractor, consultant and trade vendor background investigations.
Manage non-employee background investigation process utilizing third party vendor.
Train Alexion hiring managers in non-employee background investigation procedures and web portal.
Facilitate adverse event mediation as needed.
FCPA Due Diligence Assessments
Coordinate due diligence assessments at the request of Corporate Legal through authorized vendors.
Identify potential business partners that may require an assessment based upon Corporate Legal guidance.
Generate a security incident report for all due diligence assessment requests.
Distribute completed reports to stakeholders in accordance with Corporate Legal work flow.
Develop, maintain, and update the due diligence operational plan.
Develop programs, processes, policies and procedures based upon additional risk areas as assigned in collaboration with Global Security team member as well as internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
Candidates must have at least 3 years of corporate security management experience leading risk programs, preferably special events, travel risk, due diligence (FCPA and Background Investigations) and executive security.
Candidates must have ability to communicate at executive level, both written and orally, through superior communication skills.
Candidates must have extensive knowledge of risk and security industry standards and experience implementing risk-based programs in accordance with those standards.
Candidates must have proven track record of ability to analyze complex security and risk problems, develop solution in written comprehensive plans and lead and execute programs to mitigate risk.
Candidates must have solid computer knowledge and skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio and Excel.
Experience leading teams and working cross functionally.
Fluent in English. Willingness to learn additional language skills highly desirable.
Willingness to be available 24/7/365.
Travel up to 30% of time is possible. Education
Candidates must have a minimum a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Security Management.
Advanced-level security training in assigned areas required.
ASIS CPP certification is preferred.
