Brief Job Description

Assists in the development, planning, and coordination of security standards and investigations for all sectors in assigned region / business unit. Investigates suspicion of violation to guidelines such as theft, fraud, and threats. Gathers information from suspect(s) and witness(es). Creates formal documentation and reports on incidents. Develops action plans for resolutions. Provides oversight, guidance, and training to site operational staff and Security Nominees. Position will be based out of Eastern PA, NY, or NJ to support Northeastern States.

Detailed Job Description
Conducts and manages investigations into security-related matters for locatiosn in assigned geographic unit and/or business unit. Coordinates activities with Customer security representatives, Human Resources, Legal, Labor Relations, and/or law enforcement as applicable.
Performs security audits/assessments to identify security lapses and risks. Assists the security nominees with risk classificatiosn and self-assessments.
Conducts security awareness and standards training of staff across assigned geography/business unit. Provides security nominee training through web-based training seminars.
Advises local management / procurement regarding appropriate security techniques (physical security for new start-up accounts, retrofits, and extensions). Actively coordinates and assists management with strategies and solutions for security-related matters within assigned geography/business unit.
Identifies security gaps in assigned geography / business unit. Advises management of corrective actions to close identified gaps. Monitors completion of corrective actions in coordination with local management and/or customers.
Stays abreast of investigative and interviewing techniques and procedures and maintains positive interaction with local, regional, and national law enforcement agencies to assist in common loss prevention goals. Participates in regional Cargo Task Forces and related security organizations to build and improve relationships with law enforcement and corporate security representatives.
Provides oversight, guidance, and training to site operational staff and Security Nominees.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
High School diploma and/or GED
Bachelor’s degree in related field (desired)
Field-related certification (desired)
1 – 3 years of security, loss prevention, law enforcement, and/or military experience
1 – 3 years of experience conducting dishonest employee interviews
1 – 3 years of supervisory experience in a security environment
Working knowledge of logistics security
Some knowledge of finance and administration
Working knowledge of local, state, and federal security regulations
Good verbal and written communication skills, systematic problem solving skills, and interviewing and interrogation skills
Proficient computer skills, including use of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software programs.
