Overview:

The Counter-Improvised Explosive Device (C-IED) Training Integrator (TI) Anticipated shall support and serve as a liaison between the Air Education and Training Command (AETC) Expeditionary Training Division as it relates to C-IED training and equipment. Additionally, the C-IED TI must be familiar with combatant command (COCOM) theater entry requirements. Requirements include, but are not limited to: 1) identifying visual indicators of an explosive device, 2) reacting to an IED, 3) understanding methods of IED emplacement tactics, 4) techniques and procedures (TTPs), and 5) performing a nine line unexploded ordnance report.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Provides C-IED TI support / technical support, planning, consultation, analysis, advice and execution to establish, integrate, maintain, improve and disseminate C-IED training-related information as it pertains to Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and Improvised Explosive Device (IED) subject matter.



At training locations, assists cadre during student instruction on concepts, TTPs related to C-IED training (i.e., indicators, IED 9-Line, 5 Cs, operation of CREW Systems, hand held detection and 5/25/200m drills).



Assists in the recovery and maintenance of C-IED lanes by conducting maintenance and inventory of C-IED training devices and equipment, and by maintaining / resetting / sustaining the C-IED training lanes.



Researches C-IED TTPs, Lessons Learned and Doctrinal publications. Assists training cadre with employment of the information related to the C- IED training.



Provides directional guidance / counseling / assistance to cadre, Opposing Force (OPFOR), Red Team or Civilians on the Battlefield (COB) personnel that participate in the C-IED training lane experience. Modifies existing scenarios as training requirements change or shortfalls are identified.



Maintains contact with C-IED Integrators at other CONUS and OCONUS training venues and AETC/A3QE.



Establishes partnerships that instill open sharing of information between locations. Maintains situational awareness on deployment locations of Unit Type Codes (UTCs). Ensures emerging TTPs are supported related to C-IED activities.



Ensures training venues incorporate applicable C-IED training equipment items such as CREW systems, Hand Held detection equipment, blast simulators, C-IED training aids and other related equipment, as required.



Assists in providing an in-depth assessment of unit and individual performances; and provides feedback to the unit using the After Action Review (AAR) process, or other observation and feedback process as required.



Stays current on existing and emerging CREW systems and requirements. Prepares for and assists SF with the integration of systems into SF RTC C-IED training venues, as required. May assist with the installation and /or instruction of CREW systems, as required.



Assesses other AF C-IED training venues. Incorporates best practices into their C-IED training lane program, as approved by the Contracting Officer Representative.



Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.


Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.



Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.



EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of six (6) years related experience as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technician, or equivalent combination of education, experience and training. Successful progression up to EOD Team Leader required. Successful completion of the Naval School Explosive Ordnance Disposal (NAVSCOLEOD) course held at Indian Head, Maryland or Eglin AFB required.



Requires a minimum of six (6) years’ experience in AF personnel C-IED training processes, programs and requirements



Must have operational IED experience in Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF), Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) or other combat operational environments. Operational experience includes but is not limited to the training, planning and operations of IED and C-IED missions as an EOD Team Leader.



JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
Operational knowledge and advanced skills in EOD operation and training program methods
Working knowledge of IED components categories (e., Containers, Switches, Power Source, Main Charge and Initiator), emplacement and concealment as used in the current and future US Theater of Operations
Knowledgeable of the identification, nomenclature and explosive characteristics of Explosive Ordnance.
Knowledge and understanding of the CREW systems (e., DUKE, CVRJ, AN-PLT 4 and AN-PLT 5 and I1B1 vehicle mounted, dismounted and fixed site systems)
Solid organizational and leadership skills relevant to carrying out day-to-day responsibilities
Ability to effectively train others
Excellent critical thinking skills with ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems / complex issues
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment



MATHMETICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.


REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION
Must be a U.S. born or naturalized citizen due to government or federal requirement
Ability to obtain and maintain DoD secret security clearance


LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret counter-IED procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
