Duties and Responsibilities:

Personnel Security:
Provide guidance and direction to division personnel for all personnel security related matters.
Review all initial employment processing forms for accuracy and completeness.
Where information is deemed insufficient or lacking, provides follow-up actions to ensure required information is received.
Performs checks of OPM and DOJ databases for security investigations or clearances and adverse security or suitability information.
Initiates requests for additional information from applicants and employees.
Provides support and assists in the planning, scheduling, and conducting of security activities.
Aids in safeguarding and handling sensitive information by performing duties in compliance with established guidance, policies, and regulations.
Assists in the protection of information that is stored, processed, and/or communicated by electronic systems.
Receives, reviews, and destroys documents as required following applicable security procedures.
Initiates routine staff actions and correspondence in accordance with established procedures and precedents.
Physical Security:

Provide guidance and direction to division personnel for all physical security related matters.

Works with security staff to implement federal and departmental policies and/or procedures related to physical security.

Maintain the division’s key/lock/safe program.

Assist in implementing federal physical security programs to include occupant emergency plans, emergency preparedness, shelter in place, physical access and facility security.

Provide direction to division personnel related to the Personal Identity Verification ID program (HSPD-12). Request initial IDs for personnel, arrange for special access requests, and program IDs for out of network access to other CRT facilities.

Aids in safeguarding and handling sensitive information by performing duties in compliance with established guidance, policies, and regulations.

Assists in the protection of information that is stored, processed, and/or communicated by electronic systems.


Required Qualifications:
Ability to operate a variety of office equipment, including PCs, printers, photocopiers, scanners, telephone systems, fax machines, numbering and binding equipment, etc.
Must be able to write and print clearly. Must have typing/keyboarding skills and good communication skills. Attention to detail very important.
Must take the initiative to ask questions when necessary to complete task correctly (e.g. where instructions are not explicit or appear to be contrary to the task objective).
Ability to work well in a team environment and ability to read and follow instructions very important.
Must be able to prioritize and manage work for a number of people. High school diploma or GED required.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOJ Top Secret Clearance.
