Position Summary:

The Director of Security is responsible for providing the overall operating vision for, and day-to-day management of Creative’s Security Department, to include all aspects of Creative’s security program. This includes but is not limited to ensuring the effective implementation of all risk and security management policies, protocols, plans and initiatives for Creative operations at Headquarters and in the field to ensure effective protection of personnel, physical assets and information. In addition, the Director of Security is responsible for ensuring Creative’s National Industrial Security Program (NISP) is effectively managed. Further, the Director serves as the primary liaison and representative of Creative before U.S. government officials and authorities on security-related matters. S/he is also the lead advisor for crisis management at Creative. This position also serves as the lead on managing allegations and conducting security-related investigations and adjudications.



Reporting & Supervision:

This position will report to the Vice President of Global Operations, within the Operations Division and will manage, mentor, supervise and support a team of strategically located security professionals.



Expected Outcomes:
Effective implementation of Creative’s security policies and procedures across all Creative projects;
Effective management of Creative’s National Industrial Security Program (NISP), to include effective liaising and outreach to pertinent authorities;
Ensure that appropriate security measures are developed and followed at all times in order to protect Creative assets, including employees and information, as well as anticipate, avoid and/or manage crisis; and
Supervision and nurturing of key staff in the field and the corporate office.



Primary Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary security expert and point of contact for executive staff, the lead advisor for crisis management and primary representative before authorities and government officials on security-related matters;
Advising and guiding project and proposal leads on how projects may be designed to mitigate or avoid risk, while meeting goals and objectives and ensuring excellent customer service;
Serve as the main point of contact with external government agencies, civil groups and security providers in order to leverage their knowledge, capabilities and resources in support of the company’s interests;
Oversee and support the design and implementation of business continuity plans for HQ and international operations, as well as overseeing and supporting security and crisis management plans for those same locations;
Oversee all aspects of security management at HQ and the field including the completion of security assessments and audits, security plans, crisis response plans, vetting plans, information security plans, travel security policies, scopes of work for security-related personnel and companies, security training, crisis management support, technical support for proposals and investigations of fraud, misconduct and trafficking in persons;
Ensure compliance with NISPOM and other U.S. government requirements as well as company security policies and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the security program; and
Contribute to the design of a comprehensive cyber and information security program to protect Creative Sensitive Information (CSI) as well as classified information.



Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with a major or course work in International Development, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Security or closely related field and/or equivalent experience;
Minimum 15 years of experience leading and managing security programs of scale in international and high-risk settings;
Possession or eligibility to obtain a “secret” security clearance;
Strong experience working and/or liaising with the Department of Defense (DoD), Office of the Inspector General (OIG), Defense Security Service (DSS), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and other government security representatives;
Demonstrated management and leadership ability in the principles and practices of security management, business management, personnel security, and investigatory practices;
Experience leading security-related investigations and developing related action plans;
Willingness and ability to be on call for an emergency occurring outside of normal business hours;
Strong ability to: communicate effectively both orally and in writing with staff and the public; understand and follow standard operating procedures; perform duties in a professional manner and appearance; write required reports; investigate allegations of fraud and misconduct; and make independent and good judgment decisions within proper policy and procedures;
Professionally recognized certifications in a security-related field or other USG experience;
Experience in vetting programs;
Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% of the year.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:
Experience managing security programs in an international development context for donor-funded programs;
Certification as a Facility Security Officer (FSO) and Industrial Security Professional;
Expert knowledge in NISPOM, including management experience interpreting DD254s;
Extensive knowledge of industrial security administration, contracts, and government databases that include, but are not limited to: Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS), Electronic Questionnaire for Investigations (e-QIP), and Industrial Security Facilities Database (ISFD);
Experience in creating and managing an effective Insider Threat program; and
Fluency in languages other than English; preferably Spanish, Arabic or French.
