Job Summary
Obsidian Solutions Group has an immediate opening for an Ordnance Operations Specialist (UXO I)supporting the Foreign Material Operations program. The ordnance operations specialist will perform munitions handling operations in support of weapons intelligence collection and foreign material exploitation operations at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD.
Key Accountabilities
Performs physical inspections/inventory and maintains inspection and storage records IAW with local SOP and checklists.
Performs scheduled and unscheduled ordnance movements during normal and extended working hours.
Determines inventory control actions.
Conducts inventories and corrects discrepancies.
Accomplishes requisitioning actions and maintains due-in, due-out, and status files.
Maintains source document control and ensures validity.
Recommends system and program changes to data processing methods.
Develops and maintains stock level data.
Monitors excess munitions programs.
Occasional off-site support is required to transport munitions/materiel to and from Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.
Knowledge and Skills.
All personnel must possess or be eligible to receive a valid Class C Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a Hazardous Material endorsement, and must possess or be available for training to receive a Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER).
Knowledge and understanding the DoD Explosive Safety Board (DDESB) regulations.
Preferred candidate will have served as an (89A, 89B) or service equivalent.
Experience and Education
At least five (5) years of applicable experience performing ammo supply point (ASP) operations for the US Military.
Certification and the Technical Transportation of Hazardous Materials course (AMMO-62).
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
Be required to stand for long periods.
Be required to lift up to 50lbs.
Be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Travel
Up to 20% of the time.
