Job Description
The Security Specialist supports the Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO)/Assistant CPSO and Program Security Officer (PSO) in duties to include, but are not limited to:
Apply a general working knowledge of Executive Order 13526, JAFAN Series, NISPOM, NISPOM Overprint, DoDM 5205.07 Volumes 1-4, and other government directives (as required) in the day-to-day operations;
Using knowledge of the various security disciplines (i.e. Physical, Personnel, Information, Industrial) to apply appropriate security requirements for the program(s);
Providing support for the creation, updating, processing, coordination of Program Security documentation to include: Fixed Facility Checklists; Transportation Plans; Standard Operating Procedures; Memorandums of Agreement, Understanding and for the Record; System Security Plans; Risk Management Framework; Self-Inspections; Program Access Requests; Program Indoctrination Agreements; Accreditation Letters; Appointment Letters;
Actively participate in self-inspection and the annual government compliance inspection;
Initiate, review, and submit personnel security investigations / re-investigations via eQIP (JPAS), Scatter Castle or other designated Personnel Management Systems;
Process incoming and outgoing program and collateral visit requests (JPAS, Scatter Castle, other government systems);
Update briefings and facilitate initial, annual and refresher security training;
Assist in the maintenance of program wide personnel records and facility files;
Conduct combination changes as required and update documentation;
Assist in the review of appropriate classification markings of outgoing documents, electronic media and equipment; Prepare classified material for transmission via USPS and couriers;
Perform semi-annual document inventory of all accountable documents and media;
POC for opening and closing of government facility; performing end-of-day checks;
Receives direction from the Government PSO and the CPSO/ACSPO;
May assist and train less experienced personnel;
Under general supervision, works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature, but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practices. Work is checked since errors may cause delay or expense.

Job Requirements
High School plus advanced training;
2 to 4 years of experience;
Must have the ability to interact professionally with customers, colleagues and other facility personnel at all levels, fostering a positive business relationship with the customer(s);
TS clearance with SSBI
