Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for various elements of government security pertaining to the protection of classified information including personnel security, information security, education and training, and physical security et. al.
Be knowledgeable and aware of Executive Orders, applicable Code of Federal Regulations, the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual, Orders, ICD’s and other applicable regulations and requirements that pertain to the National Industrial Security Program.
Participate in government security inspections, reviews and assessment and conduct self inspections.
Maintain accountability systems for classified material and ensure appropriate protection of controlled unclassified information.
Interpret security classification guides and implement their use.
Receive, implement and issue DD 254, Contract Security Classification Specification(s).
Maintain knowledge skills of government security software such as JPAS, DIAS, Scattered Castles, SIMS and others.
Implement and execute special requirements e.g. OPSEC, TEMPEST, TSCM etc..
Formulate and implement security plans and procedures for all aspects of the security program.
Responsible for accredited information systems including accreditation, audits, training sanitization and decertification.
May serve as a COMSEC Custodian.
Qualifications
Experience and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience and certification, 4-7years of related work experience. At least 2 Years operating in a SCIF.
The incumbent has to make on the spot decisions, based on Security experience. It is important that the incumbent is able to recognize and interpret the governing Security authority and appropriate source of information. Must demonstrate working knowledge of NISPOM and ICD 705, 703,503 and COMSEC requirements.
Incumbent must possess skills to use all Microsoft Suite products SIMS software, JPAS, and DIAS.
Incumbent may be asked by the program manager to respond to specific questions raised by the client. The incumbent must be able to clearly explain the problem and solution to the program manager
Applicants selected for employment will be subject to a federal background investigation and must meet additional eligibility requirements for access to classified information or materials. TS/SCI/Poly required.
