Regional Security Manager – U.S. West
Job Summary
Anadarko Petroleum Corporation is seeking an experienced multi-disciplined manager with the ability to accept regional security responsibilities. Ideal candidate is a self-starter and strategic thinker, with a vision for the establishment of an innovative security program.
The primary purpose of this position is to support all company activities and implement Corporate Security Policy for all Anadarko projects for assigned territory and to mentor and develop security operations personnel within the region. The position reports to the Director, Corporate & N. America Security Operations. This position is based in Kermit, TX, and will support Anadarko’s West Texas Operations.
Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a security or related field
Prior experience within the Oil and Gas Industry preferred
Experience with consistent and effective communication at the highest level of the assigned business units, including personal security briefings with the top executives of the assigned business units (required)
Responsibilities
Investigatory
Lead internal security and loss investigations as required and report findings. Such investigations may include theft, fraud, assaults, threats against employees, work place violence, ethics & compliance violations, or other cases assigned by management, including:
Conduct surveillance
Interview witnesses\employees
Personal Security & Protection
Provide Personal Protection for EC, BOD and VIPs at public meetings and field tours, including:
Advance survey
Operational Planning
Coordinate with visiting dignitary’s security detail (if applicable)
Venue Security
Assist HR and business management with terminations and escalated disciplinary actions, including:
Law Enforcement Liaise
Establish and maintain strong liaison and networking with regional authorities in federal, state, local and tribal law enforcement, including:
Assist law enforcement counterparts with subject matter expertise on investigations involving O & G crimes.
Act as primary Point of Contact during management of critical incidents
Develop, attend and contribute to cross-sector partnerships involving industry training and relevant intelligence sharing.
O&G Security Partnerships
Establish and maintain liaison with security counterparts within industry, including:
Site Security & Risk Assessments
Provide security risk and vulnerability assessments for major asset locations
Regional Security Support
Develop and implement regional security programs designed to enhance overall mission, including:
Provide security updates and high quality recommendations to regional leadership
Maintain close working relationship with local business management to optimize regional security support
Develop security programs to prevent, deter and detect theft of field equipment
Provide staff briefings and lectures on a variety of security matters to employees, contractors, and industry counterparts
Foster safety-first environment with promotion of personal security & awareness training to employees and contractors
Support and assist with Company’s Substance Abuse Policies
Submit timely reports as required
Security Management
Provide direct supervision to regional-based Security AdvisorKeep Security Leadership informed of all significant activity and events
Oversee regional hiring and placement of security personnel for field locations
Regional Budgetary Oversight
Maintain regional budget oversight and constraints
Education
Bachelor’s degree, preferred
Certification/Licenses
Valid driver’s license required, with no restrictions that would prohibit driving a company vehicle
Professional Security Certification, preferred
