The
Weapons & Tactics instructor will support the Marine Special
Operations School (MSOS) which plays a critical role in the overall
mission success of MARSOC by ensuring the safest possible successful
completion of not only the Individual Training Course (ITC) but also the
resident advance courses and stand-alone SERE course, all by definition
High Risk training evolutions. Accomplishment of this complex mission
ensures MARSOC’s successful execution of tasks directly related to the
maritime environment, which has been the primary domain of Marines since
their inception on 1775. They continue this today in the Special
Operations domain by addressing the critical “boundary” region between
the sea and the mainland. Not able to focus solely on waterborne threats
or those ashore stretches the requirement for the mastery of additional
skills, all of which come with an added level of complexity.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing / providing instruction related to: SOF weapons, Foreign Weapons, Light Infantry tactics and amphibious tactics to include small craft operations and scout swimming
- Support site surveys and course curriculum development for amphibious courses
- Support weapons and tactics training (such as 60mm mortars, Foreign Weapons, M-240, M-1911, and as well as appropriate small unit tactics
- Provide integral support to the government maintaining its POI for Amphibious Operations and Coxswain Training to include:Coxswain training and licensing, Amphibious insertion techniques including overt and covert maritime and riverine, Scout swimmer training and boat landing site reconnaissance
- Assist in developing POIs and Master Lesson Files (MLFs) for ITC and Advanced Courses
- Serve as an instructor / evaluator during MSOS provided instruction to include:Foreign weapons and tactics, small arms employment and tactics, 60 mm mortar employment and medium machine gun training.
- Assist in the execution of exercises such as: The amphibious exercise in Key West, Florida
- Support of the Raider Spirit and Stingray Fury exercises at Camp Lejeune, NC
- Assist in collateral instructor duties as assigned (range maintenance, supply management, and office support)
- Prepare classrooms and ranges in support of training
- Contractor will be properly licensed to safely drive students in Government provided busses as well as transport ammunition in Government vehicles within MCB
Qualifications:
- Personnel must be familiar with Operational Risk Management, and be capable of receiving a Camp Lejeune Range Safety Officer Certification.
- Personnel must be capable of wearing organization PPE for 8 to 10 hours throughout training days.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Personnel must be a graduate of Service reconnaissance course, possess a current weapons qualification and be capable of passing a Combat Marksmanship Qualification.
- Personnel must have recent and relevant combat experience, and be familiar with current small unit TTP’s
- Personnel must have experience as an instructor at a small unit tactics course. Formal School Instructor Course (FSIC) or equivalent desired;
- Personnel must have curriculum development experience (graduate of Curriculum Developers Course or equivalent) is desired;

- Work is performed in an office and classroom environment. Typically employees sit comfortably to do their work, interspersed by brief periods of standing, walking, bending, carrying papers and books, and periods requiring the use of computer terminals to accomplish work objectives.

- Monday - Friday
- Must have the flexibility to work weekends, long days, nights and travel 25% in support of exercises

- Core hours: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
