DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of security manager(s), this position directs the daily operations of assigned security officers (may include armed and unarmed contract security officers) and lobby assigned Security Assistants.
Prioritizes and schedules work assignments, ensuring established standards and procedures are executed across the various shifts while addressing moderately complex physical security and visitor reception matters.
Protects property and personnel against fire, theft, vandalism, illegal entry, and other hazards; and on a limited basis, provides security officer support and coverage as required
Develops and maintains department operating procedures; support Emergency Response policies and procedures; and develops programs and processes for training assigned personnel.
Represents the security officer cadre as the primary contact with outside agencies, including law-enforcement, in coordination with the Facility Security Officer (FSO) and Senior Security Manager (SSM).
Maintains availability during off-business hours for response to various security matters, to include providing direction to 2nd and 3rd shift security officers.
Develops and maintains accurate documentation to ensure compliance with security regulations.
Provides initial security incident response, assessment and coordination to include, notification and scheduling of required staff.
Supervises Security Operations Center activities to include security and fire alarm monitoring and response; security officer dispatch for requested assistance; response and coordination to on-site emergencies (medical, fire, etc); and the review and approval of daily activity and incident reports
Oversees the daily security service functions (identification badge and access card issuance, access control, key issuance and control, generation of access history reports, and data collection and entry of related security metrics).
Provides daily supervision and coordination for all security assistant personnel in the operation of staffed lobby entrances and Visitor Registration Centers (VRC)). VRC’s may be staffed by either GA personnel or contract security personnel.
Responsible person for systems administration duties relating to automated software to include Visitor Management, Access Control, and Incident Reporting.
Coordinates quarterly meetings with non-security department administrative staff to ensure any changes in security operations or processes are provided.
Participates in the planning, selection, retention, and development of personnel to ensure the availability of the required staff. Establishes performance expectations, assesses performance, and conducts appraisals.
Supports the New Hire Orientation program and performs security awareness briefings.
Provides limited project management for access control and CCTV systems installation and maintenance requirements.
Assists with contract management in regards to security officer staffing; contract monitoring; and liaison with contractor companies for related services. Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive and significant information.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
