Position Summary
Primary Instructor and member of an instructor group responsible for providing professional training in support of USG and commercial contracts.
General Purpose
Demonstrates proficiency presenting course material as a Primary Instructor or Assistant Instructor utilizing adult learning methodologies. Develops course materials to include, lesson plans, training manuals, instructor outlines, and audio/visual materials. The Primary Instructor will be assigned tasks in locations determined by the Training Department management. Candidates must possess strong communication skills and present a professional demeanor at all times.
Position Responsibilities
• Assists Lead Instructors in all aspects of training in order to meet contract requirements.
• Advises the Lead Instructor regarding course requirements and delivers instruction within established guidelines.
• Maintain individual proficiency in all areas of expertise
• Cross trains and is prepared to teach fixed site security courses
• Develop, guide, and oversee student evaluation. Evaluate and document student performance, and provide performance counseling.
• Enters Personnel Logistics System (PLS) and Student Observation Report (SOR) data.
• Advise Lead Instructors regarding student performance counseling issues and events.
• Demonstrate fiscal responsibility at all times and make recommendations to increase efficiencies as related to training operations.
• Responsible for equipment and supply accountability.
• Participate in CONUS and OCONUS training events, as required.
Job Requirements
Prefered Skills and Experience
• 5-years experience in training service operations or U.S. Military Special Operations or Federal / State Law Enforcement with 1-year of leadership and/or management experience.
• Consistently demonstrates the highest standard of professionalism and integrity in situations involving minimal guidance and supervision.
• Possess proficiency in multiple software solutions to include the Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and limited graphic editing functions in order to construct presentations, worksheets, and charts.
• Possess a strong knowledge of military and law enforcement terms and organizations.
• Candidate must possess strong communication skills and present a professional demeanor.
• Have or able to obtain/maintain a DoS SECRET and DoD SECRET level security clearances.
Additional Skills and Experience
• Graduate or willing to attend and graduate from a PSS course.
• Triple Canopy Basic Field Firearms Officer Course (BFFOC) graduate or willing to attend and graduate from Triple Canopy’s BFFOC.
• Triple Canopy Adult Learning Theory (ALT) course graduate or willing to attend and graduate from Triple Canopy’s ALT course.
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain customer approval in a minimum of 3 skill-sets and willing to cross train in other disciplines. These minimal approvals must be maintained in order to continue employment.
• Served at least one tour on a military deployment in a high threat theater of operations or served on a high threat protective services detail.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Must be able to read and write effective communications. Must be able to demonstrate and present techniques taught in all course offerings. Candidate must be willing to travel CONUS or OCONUS when required, with the ability to perform limited temporary duties in high threat areas anywhere in the world. Candidate must present a neat, physical, and professional appearance while in the designated instructor uniform.
