Port Security Supervisor

We seek a professional, knowledgeable, security supervisor for a full-time regular position to assist the security department with managing staff and with overall security operations at the port . The essential responsibilities for the security supervisor may include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Actively support the port’s mission and vision and demonstrate values consistently.
  • Work effectively as a team player with all port employees.
  • Assist with the operation and training of all surveillance and communication equipment 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and 365 days per year.
  • Assist with the on-call status for port security officers. Must be available by phone to assist port security staff in times of emergency.
  • Work closely with local, state, and federal agencies to ensure continued port security.
  • Supervise port security officers.
  • Coordinate shift schedules for the security officers.
  • Direct officers to provide security protection for port facilities, employees, tenants, longshoremen, stevedores, vendors and visitors.
  • Assist with the declaration of securities and vessel documentation for arriving vessels.
  • Administer the training program for new employees as well as the on-going mandated training for all security officers.
  • Supervise incidents as they occur and ensure response procedures and notifications are in compliance with port policies and US Coast Guard regulations.
  • Work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.
