ATF Special Agent Basic Training Explosives Instructors
This is a Full-time position in Brunswich (GLYNCO), GA ATF National Academy posted Apr 01.
TMG is looking for highly qualified, motivated instructors for Special Agent Basic Training (SABT) Explosives, training the Special Agent trainees in the systematic approach to the investigation of post blast investigations and in the investigative techniques of perfecting Federal criminal explosive cases. The SABT Explosive block of instruction is designed to introduce the Special Agent trainees to the ATF mission of the reduction of violent crime through successful investigations and prosecutions of Federal explosive crimes.
Requirements:
ATF SA/CES instructors must be able to provide a basic working knowledge of explosives, post blast investigative and investigative techniques in relation to violations of explosion incidents.
The instructors shall have knowledge of the existing subject matter in order to provide appropriate updates and amendments to the course.
Instructors must be familiar in the ATF team approach to post-blast/explosive scene processing, the ATF NFORCE case management system, the Bomb Arson Tracking System (BATS) and the techniques to presenting explosive related case studies in order to mentor the students through the block of instruction.
The instructors must have intimate knowledge of the ATF mission and ATF resources in combating violent crime, specifically Federal explosives criminal violations.
Instructors must be proficient in the use of the ATF case management system (N-Force), the ATF Bomb Data Center and in the Bomb & Arson Tracking System (BATS) as he/she would be working side by side with SABT trainees during PEs as they are documenting their investigations in N-Force and BATS.
Instructors should be certified as Certified Explosives Specialist (CES) by ATF.
Instructors with experience as a member of the ATF National Response Team (NRT) will be given special consideration.
The instructors shall continue to maintain his/her expertise in the field of fire investigations and criminal explosive investigations.
The instructors must have been an active law enforcement officer within the past five (5) years.
Instructors must be able to travel to the training site dictated by the training agreement. This may involve travel domestically or internationally depending on the program.
Instructors must have a flexible work schedule that meets the needs of the training being provided.
Instructors must be able to pass a background investigation as required by the training program or training facility and must not have been:
- Convicted of a felony offense.
- Convicted for an offense involving violence against a law enforcement officer.
- Convicted for an offense involving rape, child brutality, or child molestation.
- Convicted for an offense of either drug or firearms sales or trafficking activities.
- Convicted for an offense that, if revealed, would reflect poorly upon the Federal Government or would otherwise present a threat to the safety and security of employees.
- Must not be currently subject to disciplinary action by an employer, released from a position as a result of a disciplinary action, or have resigned from a position prior to the culmination of a disciplinary investigation.
- Must not be a prohibited person in regards to explosives usage and possession as per Federal statutes.
- Must not be a prohibited person in regards to possessing and transferring firearms as per Federal statutes.
Instructors must be willing to volunteer for random drug testing.
Instructors must be able to demonstrate professional behavior and instructional expertise that meet ATF and the HRPD standards.
This position is contingent upon contract award.
