**This is a part time position – less than 30 hours per week**
As FSO, you will be responsible working with our corporate office to develop and administer a security program for all facets of security to include visitor control, classified storage room management and investigating incidents/violations making reports when necessary. Must be able to interface with department management, engineering staff and customer reps to design and implement security measures. Be familiar with and able to implement Federal security regulations that apply to company programs and operations. Coordinate with government agencies to comply with regulations. Utilize NISPOM, and other program-specific security directives, when working issues. Understand security classification processes and be able to make classification determinations based on customer requirements. Prepare security plans outlining regulations and established procedures for all areas of the security department. Coordinating with the corporate office, develop security education programs and conduct security training/briefings.
This position will work closely with ISSM and will need to possess some knowledge of various operating systems, network technologies, configuration management, and system maintenance. Possess familiarity with system security principles best practices, as well as controlling and labeling of classified materials. Possess an analytical ability to decipher complex technical configuration management documents.
Required Skills: * Requires in-depth knowledge and experience (at least 5 years) of system(s) functions, security policies, technical security safeguards, and operational security measures * Solid understanding of Windows based Operating Systems * Solid understanding of current best practices for Information Assurance and System / Network Security * Solid understanding of Active Directory, Security, Policies, Auditing, Windows Update, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, Ports, Switch / Router configuration, and Data Duplication and Backups * Familiarity with documentation and tools such as: NISPOM, DISA STIGs, DOD 8500 Series, NIST Special Publications (800-53, 800-37, etc.); SNAC Guides, etc. * Communication skills: written, presentation and spoken * Quick comprehension and desire to continue growing and learning in the Information Assurance and Security Field * Excellent troubleshooting skills * Experience working in a secured environment
Basic Qualifications: NISPOM Experience, ODAA Process Manual understanding, excellent written and oral communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, with understanding of JPAS, SWFT, eFCL and DSS websites. Desired experience with Classification Marking Document Reviews, Prior Security experience preferred; knowledge and ability to prepare DD Form 254 desirable. Other duties as assigned.
Completion of DSS Academy FSO and DSS NISPOM Chapter 8 Courses; FSO and ISSM certification.
