Position Overview:
The ECS Medical Support Instructor provides training to develop Navalpersonnel Expeditionary Combat Skills (ECS). The ECS course of instruction provides basic combat skills to individuals attached to units within the Navy Expeditionary Combat Command (NECC) and Naval Special Warfare (NSW) organizations, and as such, the ECS Medical Support Instructor must have demonstrated experience in an expeditionary warfare environment. Classroom instruction involves delivery of formal course curriculum in the areas of Basic First
Aid, Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC). The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate modern dynamic combat shooting skills, as well as the ability to communicate such skills effectively with verbal and written instructions. The candidate must be able to meet the basic requirements to hold a security clearance (although the position does not require one). The ECS Medical Instructor works as part of a team operating at the CENSECFOR Learning Site in Gulfport, MS.Responsibilities:•At all times, provide appropriate instructional supervision, oversight, and subject matter expertise to enable student achievement of terminal learning objectives.•Training will cover such areas as basic first aid, CPR, and TCCC.•Recommend updates to the POI and lesson plans.•Maintain academic standards (e.g. course grading criteria) in accordance with assessment standards for course.•Maintain class decorum, and follow procedures for discipline and complaints. Motivate student morale so as to ensure a more favorable learning environment.•Provide remediation training that does not adversely impact schedule when necessary.•Ensure training follows High Risk safety protocols per NETCINST 1500.13A and OPNAVINST 1500.75C.•Light custodial duties in workspace (empty trash, dust, sweep, etc.)•Perform other related duties as required.
PositionRequirements:

oNavy NEC 9518 (NAVLEAD) instructor; or

JIT equivalency by the NETC (list available upon request)
•Core Unique Instructor Training (CUIT) certification as required by NAVEDTRA 135C.•
Basic First Aid certificate (stand-alone cert or computer-based training NOT acceptable)
•Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate (stand-alone cert or computer
-based training NOT acceptable)
•Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) certification IAW latest PHTLS standards
(preferred)

Dress and Conduct Standards:
At all times instructors must present themselves in a highly professional manner in appearance
and dress, commensurate with the type of training. A professional and standardized appearance is desired; prohibited apparel
includes eccentricities or extremes in dress and hairstyles, apparel
in a ragged and frayed condition; tank tops; halter tops; crop tops; sleeveless shirts; mesh and see -thru garments; exposed clothing with obscene or advertising logos or undergarment type shirts worn as exterior clothing. Grooming standards shall follow Navy Uniform Regulations
(provided upon request), except that beards and mustaches are acceptable, provided they are neatly trimmed.
Contract instructor personnel shall exhibit proper behavior both inside and
outside the learning environment. Civil misdemeanor or criminal charges may result in removal from instructor duties. Failure to comply with the terms of the contract, DOD and/or Navy policy may result inremoval from instructor duties
Physical Requirements:
The CENSECFOR courses of instruction require instructors who possess the fitness and
conditioning to support the level of instruction. Instructors shall be personally capable of performing all training evolutions including the ability to effectively complete weapons qualifications in the standing, kneeling and prone positions, ascend or descend ladders and go through narrow passageways, and be free of any abnormal fear of heights.
Include, but are not limited to:
Must be able to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word, including
activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other
workers/students accurately, loudly, or quickly.
Must be able to perceive the nature of sounds at
normal speaking levels with or without correction, and possess the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound. Must beable to physically perform the basic life operational functions of finger dexterity, kneeling,
sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion. Must be able to perform medium lifting exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and /or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Able to deliver High Risk training in accordance with OPNAVINST 1500.75C
