The Senior Manager, Global Security Policy is responsible for assisting in the management and execution of all aspects of the relationship between Lockheed Martin and key US Government departments, agencies and components focused on international relations and U.S. defense sales as it pertains to the corporation’s international pursuits. This position will collaborate with LM’s Business Areas, Lockheed Martin International Business Development (LMIBD), Lockheed
Martin International, and other corporate functions to ensure consistency in LM’s engagement and messaging. This position must work closely with and build strong relationships with the US government as well as internal functions. This position is based in Crystal City, VA. Responsibilities will include: Working with regional directors, develop and execute campaigns to ensure US Government support for LM international business pursuits. Develop and maintain contacts with all relevant U.S. government departments, agencies and other components as necessary and appropriate. Represent Lockheed Martin at a variety of external activities from think tank and industry-sponsored events to social functions. Ensure all corporate engagement with the USG related to international business pursuits is closely coordinated with LMIBD and Business Areas. Provide white papers as needed to promote understanding of and advocacy for LM international priority programs. Support executive engagement with senior USG officials on programs and topics within the area of responsibility. Provide guidance and direction across the corporation regarding USG foreign policy and national security priorities, international processes and procedures, and USG engagement activities with foreign customer. Be available to travel domestically and internationally as required. Be willing and able to provide coverage for international programs managed by regional directors or high profile programs as needed.Basic
Qualifications
Must understand and have recent experience with acquisition processes including both FMS & DCS for a major defense program and familiarity with the USG interagency process. Keen understanding of strategic issues impacting U.S. foreign policy and bilateral relationships with key friends and allies, with a particular focus on Asia Pacific. Knowledgeable in business, political, economic, and international government affairs. Must be able to present complex strategies and information to both peers and senior level management. Ability to obtain a security clearance. Be available to travel domestically and internationally as required (approx. 20%)
Desired skills
Master’s degree in business, international relations or related specialty. Recent experience working directly with senior U.S. or foreign officials on Asia Pacific security and defense issues. Past experience working other regions beneficial. Recent experience working within the State Department or U.S. DoD on U.S. foreign policy priorities, to include the management of the disbursement of foreign aid such as FMF, in support of defense sales. Past experience working overseas. Excellent writing skills. Active secret level security clearance.
