Responsibilities
The Security Manager is a member of the NBCUniversal Global Security Team, and will be primarily responsible for all security needs of the Wilshire lot in Los Angeles, CA. This role will be expected to work closely with the outsourced guard force as well as other members of the NBCUniversal Corporate Security organization and any necessary local authorities. As both a corporate office and live production facility this role is responsible for a variety of environments and must keep all employees, contractors, guests, and visitors safe while on the property.
Responsibilities:
Proactively identify potential problems and liabilities in order to identify and implement the appropriate action, and design strategies to prevent future problems.
Respond and investigate all on-site security issues and suspicious or threatening letters or communications, directed at talent, or other employees. Must also appropriately document and track all incidents, issues, and threats.
Liaise with contract security team to ensure compliance with all policies, processes, and operational procedures of NBCUniversal are followed and enforced
Serve in a key role as part of the studio and office relocation project to advise of security requirements and concerns throughout the transition phase as well as for setting up the new location.
Provide feedback and guidance to contract security leadership on the scheduling, performance, and necessary training of the contracted team.
Review operational logs and security reports created by the contract security guard force to ensure appropriate procedures are followed and that issues are escalated as appropriate. Conduct ongoing reviews and audits of the existing security service contract for compliance, appropriate deployment, and accurate billing.
In concert with the Emergency Services Department, assist with the creation, updating and implementation of the Emergency and Disaster Response Plan for the facility. Serves as point person in the event of an emergency affecting the lot.
Act as liaison with corporate security at other studios, public sector law enforcement and fire departments, and other departments as appropriate, to gain insight into crime trends, security procedures, training updates and other issues pertaining to the delivery of security services.
Participate as a member of the corporate security team in the development of policy and procedures, reviews of existing policies, designing company-wide security and safety programs, and assisting other team members as necessary.
Provide a high degree of interaction and cooperation with other corporate departments, especially Facilities, Legal, Human Resources, and Finance.
Constructively work with the building owners and managers to ensure the safety and security of employees, clients and guests.
Qualifications/Requirements Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in law enforcement, Security, or a related applicable profession.
Minimum 2 years of experience supervising or managing a security team
Must be proficient in MS Office applications
Proven success in written and oral communication with all levels of an organizationEligibility Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
Previous media or entertainment related experience preferred
Previous experience managing risks, operations, and facilities through facility changes is preferred
Experience with threat assessment, investigations, risk management and counterterrorism strongly preferred
Knowledge of Los Angeles Police and Fire procedures and applicable building and government codes preferred
