Job Purpose
Reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Security, the Director of Corporate Security is responsible for overseeing physical security operations and related projects for all facilities owned and/or leased by Jackson National Life and its subsidiaries throughout the United States.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Directs contracted security professionals in the U.S. in identifying, developing, implementing, and maintaining physical security policies, processes, and guidelines to reduce risks, respond to day-to-day incidents, and limit exposure to liability.
- Develops and manages programs/operations related to automated security intrusion detection, access control, CCTV, lighting and other related systems and equipment.
- Develops, implements, and leads innovative, value-added security services that are risk-based and consequence-driven, by building and maintaining partnerships with local authorities as needed and benchmarking best practices to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Directs security services delivered at Jackson facilities including: security threat assessments; travel security; investigations of internal breaches and incidents; security systems integration; security awareness; and education/training programs.
- Partners with Business Continuity Management to ensure physical security policies and procedures are in place and incorporated into the BCM program.
- Supports the development, implementation, and management of company-wide security risk management programs including workplace violence, travel, and emergency response.
- Creates, implements, and evaluates emergency response plans with business leaders and other internal stakeholders.
- Analyzes business and global trends to determine and plan for both short-term and long-term security operation goals.
- Establishes and maintains effective relationships as a liaison with Federal, State, and local law enforcement and regulatory agencies that affect security operations.
- Identifies issues and risks, troubleshoots and resolves day-to-day security related incidents and escalates them as necessary.
- Manages budget expenditures and allocates resources appropriately. Manages vendor relationships and monitors vendor performance and effectiveness.

Qualifications
Job Requirements (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)- Extensive experience in the security field, including familiarity with corporate policies and practices related to physical security; executive and personnel protection; investigations; loss and incident reporting/analysis; risk and threat assessment/analysis; crisis management planning and emergency response; guard force operations and management; and integration of security into business operations.
- Experience collaborating with IT, facilities, procurement, HR, and legal to implement policy and procedures to protect an organization’s personnel, facilities, and assets.
- Proven ability to manage systems security projects and serve as the access control systems administrator for multiple facilities throughout the United States. Must be knowledgeable of technical security systems and programming of security systems.
- Ability to provide deliverables in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as to work as part of a team.
- Ability to prepare and delivery clear, succinct, and audience-appropriate written and oral reports for presentation up to the highest level in the corporation.
- Must have an established network within the industry and government or have the tools to establish these relationships.
- Ability to travel frequently.
- Is responsible for 24-hour crises response.
- Ability to manage contract staff by hiring and leading a professional security team attuned to corporate culture.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and education.
- 8-10 years in increasing responsibility in corporate security positions or public sector roles that includes substantial exposure to collaboration with the private sector.
- Law enforcement, corporate security, or systems security background preferred.
