SUMMARY: Manages the security program to include site access, personnel, and physical security.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
• Develops and maintains the security plan, policies, and procedures.
• Interfaces with the Government security manager.
• Ensure the security of arms, ammunition, and the armament facility.
• Oversee access control for Gate 9 and Wharf Alpha (while a ship is at the wharf), personal property security, anti-terrorism and force protection programs, key control, visitor access, POV access and parking.
• Manage the issue of Common Access Cards (CAC) cards to contractor and Government personnel, personnel security clearances and background investigations, use of photographic equipment, cyber security, control of bolt cutters and security seal management.
• Reports and conducts investigations into security breaches and provides results to Government security manager.
• Respond to medical emergencies, bomb threats, fire alarms, or intrusion alarms, following emergency response procedures.
• Monitor and ensure a sound, ethical environment.
• Plan, direct, or coordinate security activities to safeguard company assets, employees, guests, or others on company property.
• Develop, implement, manage, or evaluate policies and methods to protect personnel against harassment, threats, or violence.
• Develop, conduct, support, or assist in governmental reviews, internal corporate evaluations, or assessments of the overall effectiveness of facility and personnel security processes.
• Train subordinate security professionals or other organization members in security rules and procedures.
• Assess risks to mitigate potential consequences of incidents and develop a plan to respond to incidents.
• Communicate security status, updates, and actual or potential problems, using established protocols.
• Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. • Must have U.S. Passport with 1 year prior to expiration.
• Valid state Driver’s License.
• Must have a SECRET security clearance.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and at least 5 years of physical security experience.
SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE:
• Broad knowledge of Army logistical functions.
• Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
• Must have the ability to analyze, develop, evaluate, advise or promote improvements in logistical security programs.
• Must possess the appropriate verbal and written communications skills to conduct meetings, execute plans, prepare reports, plans, and working instructions.
• Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records other office procedures and terminology.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time. Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach on a daily basis. Must be able to lift apx. 25 lbs.
