Summary
Responsible for managing investigative programs for the Global
Security organization. Assists with development of programs and policy
guidance. Provides direction for the company’s investigative program
globally. Manages outside background investigations vendor in
partnership with HR on the program. Administers the department
electronic investigative/incident database, provides training and
guidance to select security field elements on its use, and prepares
monthly reports. Proactively and remedially conducts investigations into
allegations and incidents involving workplace violence, threats to
business operations as well as personnel, criminal, civil, and
administrative violations according to an investigative matrix. Conducts
physical security risk and business risk vulnerability assessments.
Responds to investigative needs globally. Provides security
consultation, risk profiling, and as needed, protection to high
visibility corporate functions and acts in a senior executive protection
role.
Essential Duties
- Prepares investigative reports, documents and maintains evidence in a manner consistent with the rules of evidence and criminal procedures
- Act as liaison with Background Investigations (BI) vendor. Manages the Security component of the BI program, and works with HR as required
- Manages and maintains the PPM2000 investigative database with accurate and detailed information on all cases, and compiles and analyzes related trend data. Initiates, tracks and documents related investigative projects from inception to completion.
- Conducts and manages global investigations (background, conduct, criminal, civil, fraud) into significant incidents or allegations involving Level 3 workforce and business operations. May travel globally in response to investigative needs.
- Assists with the development and implementation of security policies and procedures. – Assists in developing and providing investigative and related security training.
- Conducts Risk and Vulnerability Security Assessments for company locations. Conducts personal protection programs for employees traveling to high threat areas. Provides consult, risk assessments, and protection services for special events. Provides special services and protection details as needed for senior executive team. Provides consult, risk assessment and protections for aviation department.
- Maintains and builds working relationship with federal, state, and local law enforcement entities.
- Maintains and manages various technical investigative equipment and coordinate forensic computer examinations with internal or external examiners as necessary
- Work with corporate legal, HR, management as required to resolve
allegations and incidents. Provides testimony and represents the company
in court, as needed.Basic Qualifications

2 year Associate Degree minimal, with 4 year degree preferred (job experience in related law enforcement, military, or corporate security setting may be considered in lieu of full 4 year degree) Past experience in global investigations in a multi-cultural global setting with a Fortune 500 company desired – Knowledge and investigative experience within a telecommunications or fiber optic backbone provider business operations environment is desired – Proven business interaction with Legal, HR, business management within an investigative context – A demonstrated history of conducting Risk and Vulnerability Assessments within a complex multi-location corporate setting – A professional non confrontational investigative and interview demeanor appropriate for the corporate setting – Proven ability and formalized training in executive protection and security operations – Outstanding communicative skills; and knowledge base of computers and related applications for investigative report writing and retrieval – Experience (or aptitude to learn) with investigative/incident databases and reporting products in a plus – Ability to analyze and solve complex investigative issues, and to efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision – A professionalism and history of working with confidential matters; and an ability to instill confidence in senior executives with this professionalism – Demonstrated ability to maintain an ethical standard beyond reproach and adopt a sense of personal responsibility for the investigative duties – Ability to be reactive or on-call 24×7 as investigative needs dictate – Presently hold or be able to obtain a SECRET or TOP SECRET government security clearance
