Responsibilities
K2 Solutions is seeking a Armorer to support the U.S. Department of Energy for various areas of Logistics, Property Management, Equipment Operators, Munitions Support, Armorer Support, Mission Related Work (Work for Others), and Fleet/Vehicle Management with federal oversight by OST’s Logistics and Property Management Branch (LPMB) and Vehicle Systems Branch (VSB).
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
-Demonstrate proficiency and competency through relevant experience and/or education and certification in accordance with DOE Directives which includes DOE Basic Armorer Certification and specialized certifications necessary to maintain OST-specific firearms. Armorers shall obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” access authorization and be certified annually under DOE/NNSA’s Human Reliability Program.
-Maintenance, accountability, control, storage, and inventory of all firearms including spare parts
-Perform semi-annual and annual OST firearms inspections IAW DOE 470.3-3
-Perform unscheduled maintenance (e.g. broken firearm, firearms configuration change, etc.), of all firearms and ensure test firing is completed when required
-Provide monthly firearms inventory to PMO in accordance with OST M 8.07
-Ensure purchase requests for supplies, services, and equipment are placed in accordance with OST purchase request deadlies
-Utilize Armorer subject matter experts (SMEs) to evaluate, assess, provide input and develop tests for new weapons systems
-Ensure weapons are properly stored and separated IAW DOE O 470.3.-3 and
-Issue mission and/or training equipment prior to departure of convoy or training exercise and ensure that issuance is documented using OST approved documentation.
Requirements
-Demonstrated knowledge of the concepts, principles, techniques, and practices of the disciplines of in their respective areas.
-Minimum of 5 years’ experience in their respective areas.
