Position requires minimum six (6) month deployment at a TBD time.
When not deployed this position is at Indian Head, MD.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Ensures proper chain of custody is maintained for all evidence in the lab.
Brief and train replacement personnel on all Lab and Triage SOP's.
Use X-ray devices to confirm explosive safety of recovered IED components.
Perform forensic photography of device and component configuration as recovered.
Use explosive testing and other diagnostic equipment/tools to identify explosives, homemade explosives, precursors and unknowns.
Analyze X-ray data for identification of initiators/explosives/power sources/firing circuits/components and booby traps.
Execute immediate actions per SOP to neutralize any explosive threat discovered during triage observing all associated safety precautions.
Confirm Level I exploitation and prioritize evidence and case accordingly.
Ensure storage compatibility and accountability of samples and components awaiting transfer to Level III exploitation.
Produce technical reports on findings and develop device profiles.
Maintain chain of custody.
Brief and train replacement personnel on all Lab and Triage SOP's.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Physical ability and commitment to deploy globally as a CEXC team member.
Ability to possess/handle firearms in support of CEXC operations.
Intimate familiarity with ATTAC, CIDNE, WTI Lexicon and Community of Interest databases and portals.
Intimate familiarity with lab processes and work flow for level II exploitation efforts.
Familiarity with Universal profiling and schema.
Current knowledge of global IED device and TTP threat.
Education and Experience:
Graduate of the Naval Explosive Ordnance Disposal School.
Minimum qualification as a Senior Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician with 7 years of operational experience.
Experience working with a CEXC, WTI, C-IED Team, DTK Lab, JEFF, TEDAC facility, other NGIC, DIA or ATF Lab; interagency or state/local law enforcement lab.
Bachelor or Associate’s degree/High School diploma, with 15 years civilian or military experience equivalent.
Certifications and Other Qualifications:
Prior U.S. Military or civilian experience working in EOD or C-IED.
U.S. citizenship.
Current DOD Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance
