Job Description
This position is contingent upon contract award
Serves as deputy technician in charge and the deputy commander of an EOD headquarters or operational element
Serves as the backup for all functions associated with the EOD unit of his/her assignment under the contract
Responds to scenes of EPD interventions and directs operations to include access and render safe operations
Supervises daily operations of the operational unit or headquarters element to which he/she is assigned
Prepares and submits operational and after action reports to cognizant authorities
Must be able to perform all basic EOD technician duties including but not limited to:
1. Properly store explosive materials per applicable guidance
2. Prepare an on-site holding area to temporarily stow unexploded ordnance (UXO) that has an acceptable risk of movement
3. Operate modes of transportation for transporting UXO deemed an acceptable risk for movement
4. Perform limited technical supervision of render-safe procedures
5. Escort personnel who are not directly involved in UXO-related operations, but have activities to perform within exclusion areas
6. Inspect devices/UXO for the presence of explosive safety hazards
7. Manage and assist in post-blast assessments and investigations
Job Requirements
US citizen
Valid US issued passport and current driver’s license
Attend and successfully complete required training
Qualify with the Glock-19 and M4, re-qualifying as required
Obtain and maintain required security clearance for duration of task order
Complete and maintain required Physical Readiness Test (PRT) fitness level during duration of task order
Must possess a minimum of seven (7) years of recent active duty US military EOD experience
Must possess a certificate of completion from the Joint Service EOD school for the EOD basic training course
Must possess a current completion certificate for hazardous waste operations and emergency response training (40+8 hour course).
