Access Control Site Manager

Job Description: Advantage SCI is seeking an Access Control Security Specialist Manager/Supervisor to be considered for employment in Washington, DC. Individual will provide 24/7 direct support to a government customer for building access control security, supervising a team of full-time and part-time access control specialist that will prevent, detect, identify, report and guard against unauthorized personnel from entering a facility. Individual will be responsible for the overall contract performance to include logistics, management, and training and will interface directly with the customer on a daily basis. This is an unarmed position.
Summary of duties include:
  • Must be available 24/7 for the purpose of advising and assisting staff to resolve any difficulties that may be encountered that they can not resolve.
  • Schedule staff for operations that are conducted 24/7 and require shift work.
  • Manage schedule of both full-time and part-time staff to ensure 100% coverage at all time
  • Provide direct liaison between customer, Project Manager and staff
  • Maintain standards of competency, conduct, appearance and integrity of all staff
  • May also be required to perform access control duties verifying identities and clearance of individuals seeking access to the facilities; issue and conduct a hands-on badge check to visitors, contractors, or unrecognized persons.
  • Ensure that no prohibited items are brought into the spaces.
  • Conduct random Anti-Terrorism measures and participate, if applicable, in Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection exercises at the customer’s site.
  • Ensure the following of DoD and the customer’s security policies at all times.
  • Exercise good judgment at all times and provide appropriate actions to counteract potential security infractions.
  • Identify and report crime, fire, suspicious activities and other threats
  • Report to customer point of contact improper or suspicious behavior/activity within the work areas, courtyards, or in parking lots.
  • Maintain a Daily Log to record special orders and instructions, significant events and activities, important visits and visitors, customer comments and concerns, security concerns, and other observations pertinent to the management and security of the access control services.
  • Construct and write clear, concise, accurate, and detailed reports.
  • Provide customer service in a professional manner at all times which includes appearance, hygiene, and communication.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Currently possess an active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  • Successfully pass drug screening test annually.
  • Possess seven (7) years demonstrated security and security administrative experience; three (3) years of that experience must be in managing and scheduling contractor personnel (Access Control Specialist or Guards) including shift work
  • Excellent written and (English) oral communications skills to include written reports and communication orally.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient with executing emergency response plans to include bomb threat and bomb detection
  • Knowledge with automated data processing systems used in support of access control operations for the customer.
  • Knowledge of physical security regulations and visitor control procedures contained in the DoDM 5200.01, DoD Information Security Program; DoD 5200.8-R, Physical Security Program 5230.1, Visits of Foreign Representatives; DoD 5220.22M, National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM)
Working Conditions
  • Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
  • Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach on a daily basis
  • Able to walk long distances conducting perimeter checks
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Noise level: Low to moderate
  • Possess binocular vision, which may be correctable to 20/20 and be able to hear ordinary conversation at 20 feet.
