This team works within Online Services Security & Compliance (OSSC) and is responsible for the physical security of all Global Foundation Services critical infrastructure worldwide. We manage the strategic and tactical activities to ensure this gets done in a very fast paced and high tech environment with multiple stakeholders and priorities at all times.
Roles & Responsibilities
The Security Group Manager reports to the Director of OSSC Physical Security and must be an experienced leader and a team player with strong communication and collaboration skills and the ability to effectively manage people and a demanding workload in the management of Physical Security Operations across geographic and organizational boundaries.
Success in enabling a trustworthy physical computing environment that protects customer data, intellectual property, people, and the critical infrastructure facilities in which they reside or operate.
Effective at handling escalations from many sources about process, program, enforcement, operations, and all other kinds of issues related to physical security operations as well as serve as a functional backup for other physical security personnel as required.
Achieving continuous compliance with all security operations controls and objectives.
Achieving superior business results through outstanding vendor performance.
Effectively managing third-party vendors who have been contracted to provide security services to our facilities. Assess and measure the performance of that service to deploy or re-deploy assets as required based on the situation at any point in time. This will include reporting, scorecards, quarterly business reports, and financial management.
Effective at working with peer organizations to ensure physical security services are scheduled, managed, delivered and maintained appropriately across GFS in concert with Data Center Services, Global Security, and other GFS and OSSC teams.
Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to lead a global team of full-time Regional Security Operations Manager employees and a large third party vendor organization providing physical security operations services on a global scale for GFS.
- Excellent vendor management skills with demonstrated experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of the physical security discipline, focusing on operations.
- Strong cross-team and cross-group collaboration skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to develop, and maintain security related processes, procedures, program baselines, training, and improvement plans.
- Ability to document and improve work processes in order to make workflow more efficient and productive.
- Ability to collaborate across groups such as Data Center Operations, Data Center Development, Data Center Engineering, and Global Security to overcome challenges and deliver results.
- Ability to contribute to other pillars of the OSSC Physical Security program including consulting and program support by active collaboration, feedback, and support.
- Ability to manage operations group contribution to regular “Rhythm of the Business” activities including such areas as scorecards, metrics, weekly updates, and compliance controls activities.
- Ability to deliver an end to end program from budgeting and planning through deployment, auditing, and other projects.
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance while being a team player able to effectively manage a team and demanding workload across geographic and organizational boundaries.
- Experience with third-party contracts and statements of work in the context of physical security operations.
Experience Required:
- 10+ years of experience successfully managing personnel in a corporate or law enforcement / government operations program role.
- Ability to be on call 24/7 and to travel periodically as planned or unplanned.
- Experience with or exposure to regulatory and industry compliance frameworks and audits (e.g. ISO27001, PCI, HIPAA, SSAE16, FISMA).
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of US Citizenship to meet federal government security requirements.
Fingerprint Background Check: This position will be required to pass a customer required Fingerprint Background Check.
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Public Trust Position: This position requires passing a United States Public Trust Position (PTP) background investigation to meet federal, state and/or local government requirements.
