Facility Security Officer

Advantage SCI is seeking a qualified and motivated Facility Security Officer for its Alexandria, VA office. As the Facility Security Officer, manage company security program and facilities, includes personnel, physical, industrial, and information security programs. This includes processing and maintaining security clearances (approximately 120), JPAS management, management of classified storage facilities, and ensure compliance with all government regulations and requirements under the NISPOM. Must work effectively independently or as a member of a team. Strong interpersonal skills required to perform in this function. Provide specialized expertise, guidance, advice, training, and support to executive management, operations management, human resources staff, and employees, as applicable, concerning all aspects of the government and company’s security policies, procedures and practices. Exercise good judgment and discretion, as well as the identification, analysis and resolution of security-related matters.
Summary of duties include:
  • Conduct initial and annual security briefings, debriefings, indoctrinations, and re-indoctrinations of employees.
  • Write and revise security plans, procedures/instructions, fixed facility checklists, SOPs and information security plans and procedures as needed. Maintain and revise security awareness program
  • Prepare for and participate in DSS inspections and audits – current standard is superior
  • Maintain certification and accreditation of the facilities to include one SCIF facility
  • Review contract DD254s for accuracy
  • Prepare reports for management as required
  • Effectively maintain hard copy personnel security files
  • Provide security input to proposals and support to contracts
  • Enforce government and company security policies, as well as provide direction and guidance on security regulations
  • Process and pre-screen Electronic Questionnaire for Investigation Processing (e-QIP) applications (SF86/SF85/SF85P) for correctness, accuracy and identify issues prior to submission
  • Accurately process and manage current periodic re-investigations (SSBI-PR, S-PR) in JPAS
  • Manage files, actions, and records in ACAVS, ISFD, and E-FCL portals
  • Accurately process and submit paperwork for SCI through customer appropriate Special Security Office, i.e. DIA, DHS, DOS, INSCOM
  • Generate visit certification requests both through JPAS and hard copy as required
  • Oversee facility physical alarm systems and provide facility alarm response duties as required
  • Develop and provide presentations, briefings, and training to a wide audience of attendees on various security subjects
Minimum Requirements  
  • Must be a US citizen and have current TS clearance with SCI eligibility  
  • Must already have DSS FSO Certification
  • Must have completed DoD Personnel Adjudication Training and JPAS/JVACS Training through DSS
  • Minimum of 5 years recent proven experience in the security field (administrative security, physical security, communications security, information security, or personnel security) with a minimum of 3 years recent proven experience as a Defense Contracting FSO
  • Must have recent experience in JPAS (initiating, terminating, upgrading, sending RRUs, and managing clearances)
  • Highly proficient with MS Office to include at a minimum strong use of: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of NISPOM, Standard Security Procedures, and classified storage procedures
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills- English must be primary language

  • Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
  • Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach on a daily basis
